Thank you for the pledge of allegiance. I put a catch can on my 22 Powerboost (DI and PI). This past winter, I emptied it out once a week - usually about two Tbs of liquid. Like Rich always says … at least it’s not going back into the engine. Mine cost a bit more than the one in this video but none the less, I think they are a good investment and may pay off in the long run. Thanks for the great video.
Got a two of chepo amazon catch cans installed them in series in my diesel truck. I added a coarse steel wool inside the two of them to coalesce oil vapor out of the blow by works flawlessly . The only proble with them was the flimsy bracket that fix them in position. It broke right off after few miles.
Anyone who is upset with you reciting the Pledge of Allegiance needs to go to countries that have dictatorship or communism and see how good we have it here.
I was 7 or 8 years old when prayer was removed from classrooms, but I know what has happened since certain folk attempted to eliminate every vestige of faith and patriotism from the national consciousness. Good stand, Rich. If “I pledge allegiance to the flag” offends someone, the onus is on them to go to their happy place where they will be “safe”.
I’ve been curious about these for my 2.0 Ecoboost. I asked at my dealer and they seemed doubtful on the effectiveness or necessity. Seeing you install one on your vehicle tells me that perhaps it’s a good investment. I change oil religiously at 5000 kms. As a Canadian, I have no problem with listening to your pledge. People need to lighten up. Good job
I hear you on the dealers not liking them. I had an expensive one on my 3.5 and the mechanics would always tell me the same “it wasn’t necessary” then I didn’t tighten the can tight enough and it popped off while driving. So I took it all off till I could order another one and hooked it back up wrong. Truck went into the dealer for some work.Mechanic recommended to just take it off cause it wasn’t installed right and doing anything anyways.Instead of installing it properly. I just got fed up of listening to the mechanics about it every time my truck went in for work about it I just left it off.
I have a Tracey Lewis catch can on my 2016 Silverado 5.3 from day 1 My and I cannot tell you how much it removes. I could not imagine the amount I have collected being ingested into my engine.
What is your thoughts with calling a Catch Can an Emissions Defeat Device? Technically by installing these you are modifying the engine's method that recirculates oil vapors to be burned in a later combustion cycle.
They would have to prove that you're defeating or changing the way the emissions works cleanliness-wise and you're actually making it better so there's really nothing that they can do
Hello Rich: Thank you for the Pledge of Allegiance sir. You may call this a nothing video but I learned a lot from it. Looks like the Amazon catch can is a home run. Please do a follow up video on its operation if you would be so kind.Thank you again, God Bless to you & the family. By the way how are the gountains of Belegio doing. 😊😊😊.
I have one on my Jeep. When I first looked at them, I figured "can't hurt". Had it a couple of years now and I would recommend checking it weekly especially in the winter. Mine is half again bigger than the one you put in and it is usually half full in the winter.
Having had two yotes, the first (a 2012) needed a can. It would drink a quart to a quart and a half between oil changes and add a few ounces a fume to the can every month that needed to be tipped out. Was very strong power wise. The second (a 2014) never consumes a drop but is just slightly down power wise compared to the freak. More like healthy stock level of power.
I saw your earlier vid; you were not a happy camper; you were already not happy with the comments about drains, and you were just about INFURIATED about people talking about the pledge. Our flag represents FREEDOM; and you helped us retain OUR FREEDOM when you were in the military. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE SIR!!!! When I was a kid in elementary school, we had a flag raising event every morning. The older kids got to unwrap the flag, attach it to the rope and raise it to the top of the pole. Then we would ALL recite The Pledge of Allegiance. I think we had our right hands pressed against our chest just above the heart. That was a VERY LONG time ago, but I still remember The Pledge of Allegiance to this day. When I was old enough, I was one of the individuals who would help hook and raise the flag, and take it down and fold it at the end of the school day. I’m just a pissed as you are with these people who have a problem with the Pledge of Allegiance! Stay Blessed!
I have no problem with the Pledge of Allgenc Of Allegiance 👌🏾👌🏾🤜🏾🤛🏾😁. One ? Sir I'm having trouble getting the connections off the PVC VALVE I tried using my fingers but they wouldn't snap off . What tool could I use to get them off the PVC VALVES ?????? By the way I got the same Catch can with just a little different look but almost twins thou 😂😂😂
Love your patriotism! I am a Canadian and as much as i hate to see our country going down the toilet I will always stand by the Canadian flag no matter what.
I have the Ford performance one on my 2011 F150 platinum with the 5.0. I don’t drive the truck much since installing it two years ago. Now I’m curious how much is in there. Tomorrow I want to pop it open and see how much blowby it trapped.
I added a catch can onto my '17 fiesta st. I'm surprised at how little oil it collects. It's a good quality can too, with a baffle and a brass filter to pick out the oil. Small engine, small blowby I guess...
I bought one branded as AUTOKAY, specifically for my expedition, from Amazon. Its a knock off of the JL oil separator. It works great actually. It collects about 3oz every couple of weeks, and im not having noticeable oil loss. After having the truck at the dealer for the BG induction cleaning, having the catch can is more peace of mind. Truck seems better. Best of luck to everyone.
Great vid nice install Just wondering because your truck is not 2018-2020 which had that poison oil consumption problem (I got rid of a 20 because of that) What is the purpose for the catch can ? Thanking you in advance Cheers from Nova Scotia
Need to make sure the residual effect of oil being pulled through the the positive crankcase ventilation system that all vehicles have will be caught in the catch can even though it's just a little bit
A friend bought a '23 Forester which is direct injected. Will adding a catch cat can void the warranty? I'd really like to see him get one on before any junk builds up on the valves!
Manufacturers will find any reason to void a warranty. Best to remove the catch can whenever you visit the dealer for maintenance so that they dont document your car as having a catch can.
I’m thinking about getting one for my ‘04 F-150 5.4 3 valve. J & L is the only one I seen for my truck. With all the trick stuff I have under the hood of my truck, this would fit right in. Lol. I’m a follower on TikTok as well. Awesome video. Have a blessed day.
If your looking for an exspensive catch can setup look at the mishimoto dual can setup. It was exspensive im happy with mine along with majority of mishimoto products i buy. Nice thing they stand behind their products too. Shoot i even run their synthetic coolant in multiple vehicles. My 3.5 has their catch cans, up and down pipes, intercooler, radiator, trans cooler, silicone hoses, silicone rad hoses, upgraded coolant resi it holds an extra 1.5 gallon. I have other parts along with other vehicles loaded with parts from them.
I have a 2020 fusion 1.5 EcoBoost. I've thought about adding a catch can to it. I've seen the videos about the intake valves getting gummed up from the blow-by. And my tailpipe is oily, we're a non turbo cars are not.
I also bought cheap version on Amazon.Usually I check it once a month but barely bottom is covered..so not sure if that’s good or catch can doesn’t work or engine is fairly new so …🤷🏼♂️
Oil catch can install on F150. Brother has some square nuts that fit firewall stud. Put 2nd nut on top to lock it. Trimmed hoses shorter for clean install. I’ll post a video to my channel
That one looks a whole lot like the J&L I just got for $160. Mine doesn’t have braided hoses but I like that mounting location better than on the battery crate.
The J&L catch can that I had my dealer install on my 22 Explorer 2.3 is working great!! Emptied it the other day and it had some liquid an a fair sized blob of stuff in it!!
I mean as I've said a million times I catch can will benefit any car because you don't want any recirculation going back into intake manifold but you got to find the right kit for it
J&L Makes one for the driver side, I've definitely seen someone buy a second one and modify it for the passenger side too (dual catch cans). They're $160
I mean that's a pretty bland statement because it all depends on the amount of blow by a person actually has or PCV recirculation a person actually has so that can be true and not true and for the most part I would Suspect with a decent warning of check this one's a week that people will be fine
Videos have Rich calling out negative viewers but I never see any? Maybe 1 or 2 among hundreds. RU-vid is a sensible group here for the right reasons. Mature audience if you will. If it's Tik Tok then call me old, I never used it and feel no need to
Michael I wonder why you don't ever see those people because they don't stay here very long I get rid of them but I point out what's going on I mean we got to do better man see even you here almost insinuating that I'm a liar that it's not happening without actually saying it like you think you're going to play games with me and me not know what you're saying
@@FordBossMe I left nothing but praise on your channel. 8 times in the last 2 weeks I left praise. Yesterday I thanked you for the sunroof drain tips. Thanked you for reviewing Rays video on overfilling fuel which was my favourite. You thanked everyone of these comments, I got a heart everytime. Nobody called you a lier. Tonight I come to a video and see 48 nice comments and ask a question and get asked to leave 😞 I am from Europe and never mentioned your pledge, that was not me.
@@FordBossMe Nice. In Australia Dodge Ram 1500 and GM Silverado are selling. I love Ford Mustang GT but with the Utes ( Pick up Trucks ) Dodge Ram 1500 looks good but don't know much aboot 5.7 Hemi Engines.
