Thank you so much this video was super helpful!!! I have a 2011 Chevy Aveo and have had problems ever since the head gasket was replaced sadly. Took the car to mechanic more times than I’d like to share and the problem just kept going on and on after replacing the hoses the water pump and radiator plus the thermostat with the plastic housing. My fiancé went back after watching this and put in the aluminum thermostat and housing seems to be doing just fine. Thank you so much for posting this and helping us and others.
Thank you so much for posting this video. I just installed it on a 2010 chevrolet aveo same part but aluminum. Not that cheap plastic garbage which I cracked replacing the thermostat. Throttle Body Heater Inlet Pipe (plastic) Throttle Body Heater Inlet Pipe also broke 90 degree elbow and 3" down the tube broke. waiting on that part now.Throttle Body Heater Inlet Pipe is not available at the auto parts store, fyi(reader)
I had this car and it was a money pit and overheated constantly. The thermostat went out, ac compressor twice went out, and had to replace the entire coolant system. I only had it from 2014-2018.
omg i av a chevy aveo 2009 with the same engine is yours ...it s a LXV model and i change the thermostat and i crack the thermostat housing i call the chevy dealer and they want 555$ for a thermostat housing. i look on amazon and i found one for 72$ but the plastic model . if i would look at your video first i would of order a metal one ...but now i got to change my water pump just like you did...but i will also put sealer on the gasket just like you sead ...tank you so much for that video bud
I’m glad the video is helpful. Thanks. If you find the tank cap gasket has swelled you can boil it or heat it w/o burning it. Will make it shrink again
Dont do this people you will need new thermistat an housing a tear later .you shouldnt need a head gasket dont over heat your car change the whole assembly metal one
