Awesome and informative video! When you removed the torque converter bolts, did you have to support the transmission at all? I’m getting ready to do the same swap on my 2010 but I’ve read you have to support the transmission when the engine is detached. Mine is a manual if that makes any difference.
Sorry to keep bothering u another question I found out the plastic pieces in shifter assembly was broke and wasn’t putting car in park even though it said it was on shifter so I went under car and pulled the transmission linkage all the way back and it out it in park I got a new shifter assembly coming tomorrow how do I install it to make sure the park reverse neutral drive match up on the shifter assembly with the actual gear change on transmission linkage
So before you install the new shifter cable go in the car turn the ignition on and go on the transmission and move the selector to Park so it can show on the dash as Park then go ahead and install the shifter cable and make sure the gear handle is also in Park Then you can go ahead and install it and should be all set
One last question do u have to re fill transmission with transmission fluid after removing transmission coolant line from transmission im asking bc I installed the shifter and when I started the car when I put in reverse car doesn’t move and when I push it back to park it makes a grinding noise so I’m trying to figure out if it’s just bc being low on fluid or if the tranny is toast
Hi, thanks for the question so few things could cause that one check the shifter cable it could be broken. I’ve had an experience like that before if the shifter cable breaks the shifter in the car is gonna move freely that is one and two check where the shifter cable plugs to the transmission on top or where the shifter connect to the transmission on top check if the connection is intact maybe it’s it came off from the slider.
@@kayauto see my battery went dead before I changed the engine and we had to push car so we did the trick with the release pully on the shifter so it could go in neutral I found the little black piece wasn’t screwed in but idk if that would keep it from locking
@@kayauto also I’m having another issue my car clicks once and looses power all the lights on dash come on but when turning over it goes black I had this short thick ground wire I haven’t installed it’s called the Engine Ground Cable but I didn’t know where to put it and idk if that could be the cause but also it has been sitting for awhile so I thought maybe the battery bad bc after charging it lights came on car for a little while but eventually only thing that would get them on was me hooking up jumper cables
I have a 2011 Camaro that may need a new engine. How can I get in contact with you about receiving a quote? I’m in Florida, but would I’d be willing to drive the car to you & let you work on it given the great job you did here.
Where are you located , I have a v6 2011 Camaro , Engine went bad and I would like to put a new one . Where are you located & how much would you charge
@@kayauto are you sure because the 2015 engine says it’s a LFX and the one that blew out in my car is a LLT they both are 3.6 for a V6 I gotta purchase one for the mechanic to put in the LFX is cheaper than the LLT
