I truly feel for him despite a lot of the awful things the addiction has cause for those around him. DGD early stuff is wild with him puking on stage, mumbling and forgetting the lyrics but still somehow killing it. I'll follow that man to whatever band he goes to, or if he goes solo. Voice of a damn angel.
He is still my fav singer to this day dude. and its funny cause 11 years ago J Craig stood out to me among all the bands who used heavy auto-tune for the clean vocals and now its even more prevalent in modern pop too
He's actually doing pretty good! Saw him playing in Nashville at a bar called The End. I think he's been sober for almost 3 years man. I really hope he keeps it up 🙏🏾
On stage recovery during pounce bounce!! The guys didn't even miss a note while trying to get the mic figured out.That is what proves this line up flowed well together. This is one of my favorite live sets, DGD rules regardless of who is fronting them. So smoove!
I've been a fan of DGD since they released DTBM and I've stuck with them over the years through all their line up changes. I've seen them live 5 times, and in a few weeks I'll see them for the 6th time. They will probably always be one of my favorites. But...I'd hate to say it, I don't think they'll ever be this great or energetic again. The DTBMII era was when they were at their peak of success and perfection.
+Jonathan Pinedo Would you believe Jonny freestyled the lyrics when it was his turn to record the album? And I absolutley agree this was by far the best era of DGD; the Jonny Craig revival. Absolutely fantastic, this is by far my favourite album played live. Although, after listening to the them for the past 7-8 years, I feel so ashamed to say I have never been able to a show; always outside my country. I have only experienced DGD through this side of the screen....
Self titled era was sick, but as time went on Kurts smoking blow his voice out. There's a popular video of a performance of him on RU-vid and it's awful. He can't hit some of his notes at all and he has a look on his face like "fuck"
This is one of the best presentations I've seen DGD . I am even more convinced that they are my favorite band. I miss seeing Jonny Craig in DGD and Emarosa , because he gives his heart and soul and for his beautiful voice. However , life goes on and I wish more success to come DGD . :)
Kurt Travis had sick presence too. Tillian is just like there.. humping the air. Lmao I saw them at warped a month or whatever ago and he kept fucking the air. They only played mothership songs. They said they would've played Lemon Meringue tie but they got cut short. Tillian can't sing the old material in a way I like. The songs that are written specifically with his vocals in mind he's alright with, it's just different. But he doesn't have the voice to sound as powerful as Jonny or even Kurt on the older stuff. Kurt singing Jonny stuff is better than tillian singing Jonny stuff. He can't sing much of kurts stuff either.

Jonny brought so much life to dance! they just look so lifeless on stage now. Being such a fan of DGD and Jonny, it really makes me sad he's not with them anymore.
I saw them last summer on the all stars tour, and I definitely prefered this dgd. Tillian is good in his own aspects but I miss Johnny too :/ I'm upset I never got to see him live
There should be a few bios on the internet, but he had respiratory problems for every album (including the death star album with kurt as lead vocalist), if you watch live videos from early 2000s or even earlier you can see Jon struggle to breathe while screaming. Before he rejoined DGD for DTBM2 he had left the band (time of Happiness album still with kurt) in order to have some surgeries. When he rejoined DGD he had either reached his intended screaming sound or it just changed the way he sound

What an incredible video! There are almost no high quality videos of this lineup playing well. I can't believe I found one, and with a set of bangers too! We could've had this for the last ten years. Don't do drugs, or abuse others, kids. EDIT: Did something happen to the monitors during Heat-Seeking? Jonny is suddenly way off pitch despite being on the whole night, but in-tune with himself, and then suddenly brings it home at the end. Could he not hear himself for most of that song?
Wow, this is like the best video. The screamer actually is good and sounds closer to the quality that is on their albums and Jonny's voice is orgasmic like always.

it's not until you see jonny perform live that you understand why he has the fuckin ego he has. i've yet to hear anyone who can sing even better live to the extent he can.
Jonny kinda sucks at singing, like he doesnt really come close to Kurt or Tilian, after you get over his wailing you realise how much he tries to overcompensate for his lack of versatility. Like sure hes decent enough and nice to listen to but to say "i can see why his ego is so massive." Is just a bit much.
@@yungtraplord1077 interesting topic. I like both singers and I do believe Tillian has more to add in terms of technical skill, I think no one can really come close the Jonny's rawness. I like the wailing because he is wailing on key and it sounds good to me so I guess its subjective

It's the reason I don't wanna be a screamer. Cause it hurts my throat and lungs. I know there's a proper way to do it but I worry I'll be hurting my throat regardless but I'm glad a lot of screamers choose to risk it cause it allows me to listen to some good music :)

Lets make this clear, Jonny has been clean for over a year now. The progress he's made is unbelievable. I went to a DGD show before and you could tell he was so fucked up. Im glad he's doing his own thing and he's staying clean. If he was back in this scene he would probably still be fucked up on drugs.

I understand why they don't ever play anything off of Happiness and even their self-titled album, but I really wish they'd play more from their EP, Whatever I Say Is Royal Ocean...that stuff is raw and is amazing.
