I always wanted this car when I was younger. Still looks modern to this day when I see them out on the road. I miss this era of Infiniti, when they were the Japanese BMW
What an absolutely gorgeous SUV in a gorgeous color. That appearance package makes a big difference too. I'd rather have this than anything Infiniti is currently making.
Awesome video man! I work for carmax and we had an FX50s for sale in a extremely rare purple color and it was so clean! And with 40k miles. They wanted 30k if I remember. I would've bought it if my funds were bigger haha.
They need to bring this back as a QX65! This would be a great seller for them if it was RWD/ AWD & had the 3.0L twin-turbo V6 from the Q50 & Q50 Red Sport with the interior from the current Q50 & the new QX60
I've got a 2014 qx70s with the 5.0v8. Essentially this car but a bit younger, all the bells and whistles. Pretty much unknown down here in Australia, it's a fantastic car. When you plant the foot it is a bit thirsty, but holy mackerel, it goes! It handles beautifully onroad, it really is like a sports car despite the weight, and we were very surprised by how well it handled wet, greasy dirt roads, really didn't expect it to be so capable. I urge anybody who sees one, buy it! And hold out for the v8. It's a Porsche cayenne that doesn't break down Love it!
I have 2017 x5 m and qx70 5.0 , qx70 handles better , BMW steering just feels so disconnected , unfortunately my qx70 doesn’t have pádel shifter and sports suspension , even thought it handles superb . People doesn’t whit this truck is capable of .
Infiniti was always so ahead of their game! A shame what they've become nowadays. The FX is such an iconic vehicle, especially when it launched back in 2002. Same with the Skylines/G35. This 2nd generation FX, while not as handsome, was quite an improvement in quality, technology, reliability, and performance. It was a polarizing design that looked like an angry catfish, but it has aged quite gracefully. Infiniti desperately needs to go back to its roots and re-discover itself. Genesis is picking up their slack and it'll prob be too late for them to overturn the error of their ways.
I have always love d this car. I rented one once to do a 250 mile each way trip to visit family. Rained heave the entire way there and it was rock solid. Poor visibility out back. I keep my eye on them but the prices are still a little high.
Ive recently got into your review videos and I love your FX videos. I actually have a beautiful condition fully loaded and slightly modded FX50 that id love for you to do a review on. The custom exhaust note itself is well worthy of a review! Im located in Wisconsin 🧀
I bought my Wife one of these last year. It’s so fun and a great daily/road-trip car. I try to drive it as much as I can when she’s not using it. It has the Ark exhaust on it and it sounds so good! Trying to find one to buy at the time was a pain in the butt, but is worth the time and effort!
@@JNguyen07Max as far as I know, I bought it WITH 245k miles on it, yeaaaaaah I took a gamble, but it was driven by a travel nurse, and she took VERY good care of it. I've replaced the front brakes, radiator, and upgraded the wheels.
@@bigjoewebb that's insane. Nissan have the worst transmission but they look so nice. Used to have a 07 maxima. Has to get rid of it due to cvt issues.
@@JNguyen07MaxNissan CVTs are horrid! Those were not used in these so none of the same reliability issues. I loved the Maxima but refused to go near one when they put those trash CVTs in them!
I always really liked this, like I’m not particularly an Infiniti guy but for years after they first came out, I always thought there was something special about them. Now I know why.
I have the 2009 version. Has every option but the power tailgate. It's also the very rare midnight mocha color which is kind of purple. I've had an f80 M3, and E39 M5, ML55 AMG Mercedes and this is my favorite of the bunch so far! It gets mistaken for a Porsche regularly but it's reliable! Haha! I've watched quite a few videos on the FX50 and something that rarely gets mentioned is the unbelievable freeway performance. This vehicle is quick around town but absolutely pulls like crazy doing 60 or 70 mph 🤷 I have mine fully chrome deleted and the calipers painted bright yellow!
My working porsche regularily drives past a broke fx in the neighborhood, not so sure about nissan reliability as there are several broken infinity cars sitting in my and near neighborhoods…. Never seen a broken porsche sitting on anyones driveway, well not since the 944 was cheap, lol
@@sunnohh got 2011 fx50s, very reliable, better cooling, more tech, much faster than a cayenne gts which has 30 hp more, cayenne is reliable, drives much better on rough surfaces, a little better on smooth pavement, luxurious on the inside, but lacks much tech in 2011, its 400hp v8 or 420 hp in gts feels lack luster and drives 0.4 sec slower than an fx, still points for better handling and more luxurious cabin than the Infiniti. looks wise the fx aged much better.
Too bad you weren’t in Canada. I would let you test drive my 2010 fx 50. It’s fully catless, borla cat back with a custom up rev 94 octane tune that makes 368 awhp, probably about 410 crank hp, it has 203 000 km and still running strong. Only things I’ve replaced are the radiator, brakes, ignition coils and spark plugs. It’s been a pleasure to own. I truly don’t know what to replace it !
@@slowspecv69 no it’s NA, you don’t gain that much on NA engine, I i’ve seen other fx 50s with similar mods the most gained is 25hp, they were already highly tuned from the factory so there isn’t much left on the table .
@@petrolheadforever196 you typically can tho, idk about the vk50, but pretty much any v6 (J series, VQ hr or vhr etc) make solid power fbo tuned on pump gas, usually near or right on it’s rated crank hp but to the wheels after tuning, like a 40-55hp gain.
I seriously want one of these cars. They are seriously rare around me and from what I understand they ONLY put this engine in the FX50 for ONE year. Please someone tell me if I’m wrong about this, but I cannot find anyone selling one of these on the entire east coast.
This engine was in all fx50's from 2009 to 2013 and was available as an option in the qx70 for 2014. You're right, there aren't many to pick from. But I know that precise Automotive Group in VA has one. I know that cuz I just bought the other one they had for sale 😂
I flew out of state to pick up a black/ black 09 FX50S with 135k for $11,700 to use as my Dad mobile. I did the exhaust and put in a JL 10w6 before I registered it.
At what mileage should I avoid buying one of these. It has been on my radar really since they came out . I'm thinking of getting one but not sure wherebthe citboff would be fornthis vehicle. Thanks for any and all advice.
Just 2 years ago no one knew about these, literally were going for same cost as a fx35. Now it seems like prices are going because all the enthusiasts know. Now Low mileage ones go for 25k and up
I didn't know you could add or delete intros without reuploading the video. Maybe that's how Throttle House uploaded their latest video (Rivian R1S I think) without the intro.
