well your key fob works lock and unlocks with full battery no start from push button andn key light lit on or not lit hmmm came across another rare bad steering lock box gone wrong.
My car will not turn over, everything works just won’t start or even crank. can’t even get it off after it is stuck on accessory’s.. the orange key light is on.. not sure if this is it or something else!!!?
My g37s stalled due to the car being to lean via aftermarket intakes, ever since the car won’t start but all accessories/ignition lights work any ideas? Car will not crank/completely silent when trying to start it
@@makaibrooks2220 ended up just taking it to the shop thing is other people had the same problem except theres would make that engine sound when u try to start it then not start, mines didnt make no engine sound or nothing they told me it could be something electrical going on so they’re ordering the parts
I have the same issue I have. A 2011 g37x and it won’t turn on it shows the key light on dash board only also dash board ain’t working.. a couple days before it happen I had a indash navigation system installed can that be the cause of these
@@franciscocastro1159 if the yellow key light on and push button don't respond I say try another steering lock module. Just like the one I have in the video. Junk yards have them out there now depending on where you go. I'd look for a crashed one. Or good condition one
I have a 2008 G37S coupe i have a no start only a click coming from the engine. Ive replaced the battery fuse and an 02 sensor from the bottom left side of the Catalytic converter and nothing. Open to honest opinions
I have a similar problem as well sometimes my car will start but as I’m driving it shows that the key isn’t detected so when I turn off the car it won’t turn back on. Ignition and everything works I just get no crank no start
@@andrewsegura6990 u may want to change the fob battery 1st sounds like. If the fob is dead car will not respond to neither buttons or start unless u put it near the push button ignition or in the slot
I have an issue where the only things that work are the headlights and horn. Not remote functions, no dash lights, no crank, no accessories, no radio, nothing. Any ideas? I know the battery is good. The fusible link is good. The IPDM is good.
Check all the main fuses on the battery positive terminal. And there is a shipping mode fuse too it's got a white looking cover it's square, it's inside the car in that fuse box. Pull it out it and check it it controls all the accessories.
Same issue, headlights and door lights turn on, key unlocks and locks, can’t get it to go into acc mode or to start, no dash lights got a new battery same issue, if I got lucky a jump start would start it up but no luck anymore could it be the steering lock module ?
mmm, nah the steering lock works separately from (BCM) body control module. The steering lock module only controls the accessories and starting of the car. Infiniti and nissans
@@samuelortez5971 you have to to hit it in a counter clockwise direction which you want to hit the outside of the head of the bolt on the bottom until it loosens then u can loosen it with your fingers. Once loose leave it in and break the other loose and both will come out
I took a Dremel and a small cut off wheel and put a slot on top of each of those bolts so they looked like a regular head screw after that I could use a flat head screwdriver on. That was NOT enough though. I had to hit the right hand of the slot using a long brass punch and a hammer, and then they turned slightly, and then I used a stubby flat head screwdriver. It actually was not all that hard surprisingly.
Follow up: That was indeed the issue was the motor. I had to remove the security screws. Manually retract the metal locking pin by hand. I did not have to open up the motor. I could tell it was bound up when i pushed on it. It had that locked up feel. Once it was retracted. I put the motor back with new M8 hex bolts and put everything back which is a major pain, plugged up all the plugs and reconnected the battery. Car fired right up and the NO KEYFOB issue went away, no check engine lights. I was sure to plug up everything including the air bags before reconnecting the battery. While it was running I removed the 10amp fuse for the lock motor thats in the hidden fuse box behind the battery panel under the hood so it would not try and lock back. This is supposed to be a permenant fix for this. Thanks to everyone who posts these videos. Saved me a cool $1000-2000 cuz you know the dealer is gonna want that to fix it.
I asked cause I looked up the part and it comes with a reprogrammer for the key you put in the OBD port? Also I’m guessing this will work for a g37s too?
@@G_conol37 If you just replacing the steering lock module you shouldn't have to to bother with that part unless yours have the mechanical knob and i-key. This one I have have the i-key only 07 and up g's 06 and under with knob/i-key or mechanical key will require key programming
Check the battery main fusible links and hopefully check to make sure these car don't have no tracking device too that'll kill the starter from working so places forget to move those off and alot of time they'll beep
@@Suex00 Nope the car was a total loss I put a new transmission in for 5k and then was told a body harness and side passenger harness was needed and the labor for that was 10k which I don’t have so now i’m stuck paying off a 7k loan for 4 years
My 2008 g35x it has a new battery on the car new key fob battery and it still says no key detected and it doesn't start or even open to accessories and the red key light is on any advice this just happened today had to get the car towed home.
@@abbas674 water may have gotten in the IPDM (FUSE BOX) IT sits near the battery under the windshield cowl on the right if that area depending how long the area was sprayed. If u washed around that area and flooded water probably got in it. I seen it happen at times. People leave the windshield cowl seal off after changing the battery or so...
@@ronaldrovnazaire3250 what happens when push the start but and is the yellow key light lit on the dash? Make sure you're key battery is not dead or else the car won't respond unless u physically put the key in the slot box and will start
What if the problem comes on and off. One day no issues and the next after a rain for example it just stalls and won't start. Or starts but the car starts bukking and shuts off
@@LosDaGhost973 just seen a vid where water gets to the fuses because of the way the car drains, check your fuses I think on left side towards windshield. My son is having a problem with his G37 also, he pushes the button and want start but a few minutes later it starts by its self. Crazy right I'm thinking the switch might be going bad. Looking for answers
