@tbirdsport302 Cool ... thanks for the feedback and kind words ... great to hear (literally)! ;) I added a bunch of steps to the post-production routine, processing through Levelator, then re-importing the processed audio track. I'm going to write it up and post it on geekbooks to help other RU-vidrs that may be experiencing the same dilemma.

@Maserati7200 A few things ... 1) The oil used to power the farm equipment can be Biodiesel. 2) Corn Ethanol is first generation. In the future, Ethanol will increasing come from many places (including municipal garbage, algae, and wood waste). As a result, we will drastically reduce our reliance on corn as the feedstock. 3) We will will continue to feed corn to livestock, to fatten them up for slaughter and continue to make plenty of High Fructose Corn Syrup. Viva La Cheesburger and Coke! :)

@mpgomatic I found out the HEMI V-8 will score a 6-spd auto for 2012. Not yet with the Pentastar.

@flatblackstrat Thx! The GC's interior is sweet. But Audi-like? I might have the chance to check them out side-by-side at an event later this month. Haven't been in the Explorer yet (and missed it at the NY show, to boot) ... I'll be sure to check it out.

@bigcrowfly We have to test everything with E-10, as it seems that "pure" gasoline is not available at any service stations in this state (NJ). I'm hoping to do some lab/dyno tests down the road to test E-10 vs pure gas ... once I find the cash to fund the test (and find some pure gas).

Dan, I'm hearing in the future (2012-) that an 8-speed auto is coming soon; it's coming in the Hemi, but I don't know about the Penatstar. I think like the Chrysler 200 and its sibling Dodge Avenger, the Grand Cherokee should have a 6-speed auto at least. But this is Jeep's best effort.

i know the hemi model has 5 speeds. but by saying multi-speed transmission, some people might not know that

@mpgomatic Well that's what Ford put out to the Presses. Ford said their goal was to benchmark Audi in interior quality in the Explorer, and I have seen and heard many reviewer say just that, it is Audi like in quality. Then come to find out a few months ago a certain publication made a video here on youtube actually putting the JGC above the Ford in interior quality. So I am a bit confused on how the cars actually are interior wise. Again thanks Dan.

@Spyster007 Whoo yeah. I was just in a Touareg TDI. Loved it, except for the price tag. $58 for the Touareg TDI vs $43 for the Grand Cherokee. Review coming in the next few weeks ... I'm up to my eyeballs in videotape ...

@mpgomatic I liked the review and I think the GC will do even better with the new 8-speed when it comes out. By the way have you had a chance to do a 2011 Explorer 4wd yet? I am considering getting one but I don't want a vehicle that will downgrade my gas mileage from what I have now.

@mpgomatic It was fine for me as well and I am using a cheap 2.1 stereo with sub setup right now since my surround setup is busted. That being said your doing good.

Why is it that every time i hear ppl talking about the air suspension in the new GC i think of the Land rover Range Rover P38 and its horrible relabilty with its EAS (electrtonic air suspention)

I think it would be awesome if you were to do something with German vs Domestic on interiors because it seems with China becoming an economical powerhouse the U.S. OEMs are looking to make the cars more exportable and desirable quality wise, and the biggest part of that is the interior.

@zeal117 Thanks! Mo speeds, mo better. :) The GC will definitely benefit from a more modern transmission. Just tested a sweet Mercedes Bluetec sedan with a 7-speed ... should have that review up in the next week or two. Haven't had the chance to test the 2011 Explorer yet ... hoping to get to it by late summer or fall.

I remember when cars finally got "3 speed" automatics ! Now they ONLY have 5 speeds and we complain.

@mahatmacoatmahandbag Thanks for the proper info. I was reading some pages on that. According to auto journalists, Chrysler's working on trying to get the proper gear ratios in synchronizing the 8-speed auto with the HEMI V-8 thus the delay 'til '13; they've got it working with the Pentastar for the next model year for the models as you've said, the Chrysler 300 and its cousin Dodge Charger. When I wrote this message, I was a little enthused, but thanks for your correct info.

Not really, a CVT has almost unlimited gear ratios but it ain't what you call effective and compliant.

It will get an 8 speed in 2014 but it will have the 5 speed until then, unless you get the 5.7 hemi. Then you get a 6 speed.

@vipermoon64 Aye, there's some trickiness with second gear in the 545RFE transmission that's mated to the 5.7-liter, consequently Chrysler refers to it as "multi-speed" ... not exactly five, not exactly six. How about 5.5? :)

@flatblackstrat sorry, but the explorer really doesn't compete with the audi, I found the ford's fit and finish just not quite up to par, and I'm not really a fan of the ergonomics either. I compared this cherokee with the new Vw touareg, (which has an audi like interior) while the Cherokee interior is light years ahead of the previous generation cherokee, it still isn't quite in the same class as the new 2011 Touareg or Q5. So far, no one can do an interior like the Germans.

I drove one and it was very small inside. If you are even slightly above the average sized person, don't even consider it.

The older I6 were SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much faster thasn this! this tyhing is slower than mercedez turbo diesel, the older ones. pisses me off. Chrystler is wrecking these. :-(

Not the case with my 5.7... But these things surely gained some weight after the bad influences from Mercedes
