Awesome car. I paid a little more for my 2012 with a little more Ks, they have probably the best most comfortable seats, its quick,, fast, handles great, and all in luxury.... best bang for the buck. No issues. There was a recall on the air bags like most other manufacturers - it just always runs awesome. Acura says don't touch them until 160,000k and then for the first time replace spark plugs, timing belt, and fluids then don't come back for another 160,000k. Their service department is great and parts are apparently inexpensive considering the type car ie brake rotors, and pads. If your car has never been banged up and maintained - buy it you cant go wrong. They were compared to a BMW 5 series, again--best bang for the buck
I loved this redesign with the angles and just bought a 12 today in this color with 62k miles. It's a strong motor and rides nice but gives you enough feedback you can still feel the road a bit. I do need to get the software update though for the torque convertor and transmission as it has that weird little shutter at low speed 0-25mph, dealer said they would take care of it for me. And as with all Honda products the HVAC is fantastic!, And was cool to learn it was made in Marysville a couple hours away from me.
@@everycarSeattle I did but unfortunately the dealership i got it from was not an Acura dealership. Discovered the struts for the hood are broken the next day and it wont stay up, this morning the i put right rear window down and it wouldn't go back up from driver control. I am going to make them cover under their 90 day 3k warranty such bs. Also going to have local Acura address the shudder issue with tranny with extended warranty under TSB 18-047, not a great way to start my ownership experience.
Although you do not have to use premium gas in a TL Craigzilla, it is recommended...but not mandated. Timing belt replacements are hard work but can be done in the garage. I wouldn't, but you're probably significantly more capable than me.
All V6 Honda products had the same transmission issue up to about 2006 (they were much better after about 2002) but TL's really got singled out...of course, we had a 2000 TL and had our transmission replaced twice under warranty so the complaint was justified.
I've owned an '05 TL, an '07 TL with Navigation, a '10 TSX V6 Tech, a '12 TL Advance, another '12 TL Advance and currently own a '13 TL Advance. Needless to say, I'm an Acura fan. These are great cars. Because I put a lot of miles on a car per year, I buy low mileage used vehicles and sell them when they get close to 50k miles. Not because they aren't reliable but after 50k miles, they start losing some value as all cars do and I'd rather roll the value of the car into a newer, lower mileage Acura rather than let depreciation eat up the car's value. I typically keep my cars anywhere from 18 - 24 months. I'll be selling my '13 TL this summer and will very likely be buying a '16 TLX. Again, great cars. Have had no trouble with any of mine.
@@thecarelectronicguy687 Because I wanted to. And because they were great cars. I ended up selling my '13 TL and did in fact buy a '16 TLX Advance. Kept it for 3 years and now I'm driving a '20 Accord Touring 2.0T. Want a '22 TLX Type S but the fuel economy is wretched in those cars. And with today's outrageous gas prices, I'm delaying purchasing a Type S.
I am thinking to buy a 2013 TL with 55000 km and 3.5 lt engine FWD . how long can I expect the engine to last and how reliable mechanically are these cars? Thanks
PLD Security & Lighting As long as you change the oil every 3-5k miles and do all other regular maintenance, the car should easily last several hundred thousand miles
I run Mobil 1 in all our cars and change every 10k, have 181k on my 07 Maxima and it doesn't burn any oil, sadly the crappy CVT is dying which is why I bought this 2012 TL, will do same oil changes on it as well.
That dealership is like a skyscraper...unfortunately the only place to do videos was at the top. The new videos are all in Hawaii, at ground level. Thanks for taking a look, I appreciate it!
