In VLog 35, the driver's side HID bulb has burnt out after 42k Miles. I've looked around and researched how to change it because simply it isn't accessible via the engine bay. There were suggestions on going through the fender liner (I had no such success) I couldn't fit my hand due to the frame being in the way.
I then decided I would remove the front bumper and remove the headlights and replace the bulbs with as much room as possible.
Check out how that is done in the vlog. Not a hard job to do, just time consuming.

A couple suggestions, if you also need to change your high beams and upgrade your fog lights to LEDs for example, now's the time to do it. All at once with easy access for everything. One additional hot tip, now is the time to polish your headlights while they are away from the paint. It's really easy and fast

Thank you. Your video was very helpful. I had no luck getting in through wheel well to service the lamps, too. Used WD-40 on push locks. It really helps to not to break them when disassembling.

Nice video. I did this, but without removing the bumper and headlight housings. Let me just tell you that I will never do that again! Took me 3 hours! The worst part is getting the igniter ground plugged back in.

Yo this video helped a lot! I’ve been nervous to do it myself for a while so I would pay a guy to do it. Figured it was about time I did it myself and it’s not so scary anymore. Turned into about 2 hours of frustration and fun!

This was a very helpful video. Very thorough and easy. I swapped my headlights with new ones. Only thing he doesn’t mention is when you disconnect the battery you will need a code to reset it. Got to wait the weekend to call sewer for proper code

Nice video, when you had the headlight unit out could you see where the left-right beam alignment is? The up-down is in plain sight but I can't find the other.

+web 293769 not sure I understand your question. The projector beam is set, you can't raise or lower it.

EpicJonTuazon , I had to have one of my headlights replaced on my 2014 tsx se and it looks like the projector beam is pointing toward the center of the car vs it being straight. I can easily find the adjustment screw for the up-down alignment of the light but can't find the left-right to make the beam straight. I was going off the symbols on the headlight housing "maybe there isn't on for left-right adjustment" Sorry if I wasn't clear before.

+black5corpion76 should be very similar. do check though if you can fit it through the engine bay before you go removing the bumper!

Thank you very helpful i will be doing this in 2 weeks time but im getting my inner light plastic sprayed black and the indicator cover taken out my Euro is black and i can't stand the yellow indicator covers. Mine is a 2010 Accord Euro from Australia id assume to take off my bumper and light removal would be the same as this. Thanks again

Great video! I thought about using a flathead to free the bumper from the annoying clips, but I was really worried about the flathead scratching the paint on my bumper. Was it difficult to maneuver the small flathead without rubbing against the bumper? Again, great video! I'll probably use this going forward :)

anything is possible. you would have to heat the adhesive off the lens to remove the plastic covering and then either spray it chrome or black.

Hi, great video explaining this process! Subbed because of it! Just a quick question, as you got 6500k HID do you think this will closely match with 6000k LED DRL/high beams as currently, as stock, they look too much apart colour wise, and I want them to be as close as possible?

Yeah, I have replaced my High Beams to 6000K LED, so I was wondering what colour temp HID to get to match closely to the High Beams colour wise? I'm am debating whether to get 6000K HID or 6500K HID, if you could help? Thanks

I have a 2011 tsx. When i turn on my car...the light turns but then slowly turns amber. After like 15 secs...it shuts off. Do you think that is a bulb prob or ballast?

I would try replacing the bulbs first. That would be the cheap and easy fix. If it continues to happen with a new set of bulbs then you know its probably the ballast.

Adjustments on the light bulbs are typically on the bulbs themselves there are some angulation screws. Depends on what bulbs you have.

@@sulemavasquez8261 no they sound like the right ones. You won't be able to adjust the high beams. The HID bulbs themselves you won't either. I got confused with LED bulbs for a sec. On the back of the headlight housing there should be screws to adjust the level of the beam you'll have to take the headlight out make an adjustment and put em back in to see where they line up.

On the passanger side it's fairly easy to replace the blub but on the drivers side...no chance. Even my car dealer remove the bumper, because it's much easier

+EpicJonTuazon one thing is different to mine Honda Accord (live in Europe, they sold these as Hondas): the wheel arch do only have one screw on each side. Do you have a sport package? Maybe that's why you have three screws.

my Honda Accord in the UK has the three screws though, so it may be the case, because the special edition one has a lip on the bottom of the bumper in the UK

9005 bulbs are the high beams. You'll need HID bulbs which are something like D2s Bulbs.

Im about to do this tomorrow morning bcs i tried the other way (going in blind) and it was awful and i dont wanna keep messing anything up since its really hard to connect the ground cable back (again going in blind) so anyone wjo tried this and worked, how long does this process take?

yeah i got the bulb out through the engine bay but that damn ground cable i couldnt get back on so i gave up. did you take the whole bumper off

When changing my hid bulbs, I could t get the little top white connector back in. But the lights still work. What exactly does that wire do on top? Does it just hold the ballast in like you said? Thanks.

You can use leds for the high beams but not replacement for the low beam as they are HIDs

Quick question: Where did you buy your HID headlight bulbs? I saw the link you gave in your comments and I order but when the light bulbs came they were not in the official box like you had in your video...could you post the link again and confirm if the ones I got from Amazon is good? The box is just plain white...

Hey at 7:45 ..What is the aluminum piece that detaches from the bulb called , it has the braided cable attached ( found out mine was burned completely). Thanks for the help , was able to get my bumper off easy !

What a piece of crap! You shouldn't have to pull half the car apart just to replace a headlight bulb. It's a friend's car I'm reaserching installing new headlight housings but if it were my car it would be going up for sale as soon as the job was done.
