10 years later, you helped me install a nice new black grill onto my 2010 honda accord euro. My car was missing almost all its clips too, so i ordered new ones :P Thanks so much.
This video was spot on regarding removal of the front bumper on my 2010 TSX. Only thing I would add is to be really careful of the four plastic clips directly underneath the headlights on each side- I used a wide flat blade screwdriver to very gently give them a lift to free up the top of the bumper. And even then, I broke a couple off! Super easy after that to replace the fog lights, and reinstallation was pretty straightforward, first getting one side aligned and partially pushed in, then the other, repeating this back and forth around to the wheel wells. Thanks for a great video!
Outstanding video that gives all the information to remove the bumper from the car. It is the easiest way to enable the replacement of the grille components i.e. the emblem , grille moulding upper, fog light lens. I especially appreciate that the focus of the video is the car and NOT the person making the video. Great job Blu-TSX.
Great video I appreciate the information. Got a silver 2013 Acura TSX special edition putting a cold air intake on today and throwing in some led headlights. This was very helpful have a blessed day. 🙏👍😀
Very, very helpful. Thank you so much! Need to replace my fog light assembly's because both lens cracked and I needed a solid DIY bumper removal video..couldn't have asked for a better one. Thanks!
excellent video! I have the same car, but I am just wondering if this also gives easy access for removing the headlights? The Low Beam headlights are a massive pain in the A to replace without removing them
Excellent video Blu-TSX. As I saw one guy had the same question with me. Just wondering as I was reading some other comments on here. My grill started bubbling and a piece started peeling away. I want to replace the whole grill, DO I HAVE TO REMOVE THE ENTIRE BUMPER to do so? Thanks!
Great video! Can you do a tutorial on how to wire your DRL on to your fog lights. I've read the written tutorial but I don't understand. If you can make a video that would be much appreciated! Thanks!
on the drivers side front corner after the bumper is removed there appears to be a black plastic jug or a chunk on plastic. I'm asking because I purchased a 2010 tsx that was claimed to be in a Sligh collision bit I'm learning otherwise. it was hot on the drivers side and have come to realize that the drivers side was demolished and missing what appears in the video you posted. this case is in court it doesn't change the fact that my 16 yr old daughter is driving the car after over $2k in repairs that I was told were fixed.
Hi, have you ever removed the pillar A trim by the driver side door? I'm trying to remove my headliner to replace my sunroof motor, but having a hard time with it.
Sir i plan to replace the grill only, if i remove the whole bumper i will damage or scratch something, is it possible to change the grill by just getting my hands down from the Top with just the top Bumper securing things removed ? any idea.
I'm about to replace my fogs/drl w some hids... Seeing I need to install 4 ballasts any suggestions on placements since U have had the bumper off?? Btw ppl who wanna spray their cheap looking chrome plastic grill easiest way is to Plastidip it I had mine painted black to match car but the pains peeling off so when the spring comes im gonna sand it down and dip it... I had the car painted by professionals and they did a shitty job.. I have a vid posted on my channel
so When looking for a replacement bumper, will I be looking for a bumper cover? This is all I am finding when I search for front bumper. Are they the same thing?? I just got into an accident today and need to replace it. would anyone know how or where to look locally?
hey, nice video, but i have a question: the bumper of my acura tsx 2009 isn´t so easy to remove, the clips below the light are pretty tight, do you have any tips? in this video it seems so easy, but it turned hard to me :c
You mean just under the hood? I like to vacuum all the left over leaves and derbies, then wipe everything down with a moist soapy towel. Hope that helps!
Hello sir! Excellent video. Just wondering as I was reading some other comments on here. My grill started bubbling and a piece started peeling away. I want to replace the grill, do I have to remove the entire bumper to do so? If I understand correctly from another comment I might not have to. Many thanks!
I have honda accord UK 2009 model and I want to replace the front bumper. Only issue is that it has parking sensors in front. What should I do to remove it? Does it need to be taken off before front bumper?
No sensors do not come off the front/ first. Just when you remove the bumper from the frame, I would go slow and very little. Behind the bumpers and sensors are are wires that clip into the sensors. Un-clip the wires and then pull the bumper away from the car. Similar to what you do with the fog lights seen here.
I want to replace the chrome grill(the piece with the hole in the middle for the emblem). Can this be done by only removing the black plastic piece or do I need to take off the whole bumper? Thanks, great videos.
Update: I was able to replace it with only taking off the top black piece from your video. I used an offset screwdriver to take out and replace screws for the grill. It was a pain. Not sure if taking bumper off would have been better or not.
yarayar1 Thanks for the update. I looked up and people we saying they couldn't fit a screwdriver in-between the space so I recommended taking the bumper off. This was just the top piece or the entire grill. Again thanks for clarifying, I know this will help allot of others with the same question.
Hey Blu TSX. I'm an 09 Red TSX with Tech package. I recently blew my front door speakers. I was wondering if you had any problems with the ELS sound system? I was thinking of getting after market Infinitys. Do you know how the tweeter to speaker works and where the crossover is? Do you know if I can use the existing tweeter with the new speaker or do I have to replace both? Thank you so much!
yahiii I have never had a problem with my ELS system, but I have heard many people blowing their speakers in the TSX often. I'm not an auto enthusiast so I really wish I knew more on the subject. But I know in the ELS system (tech package) the tweeters are connected to the door speakers. tsx.acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=895915&highlight=tweeter
Thanks bro. I'm trying to get Acura to cover it under warranty. It's weird. I have Acura Plus extended warranty and the dealer is saying speakers aren't covered when the "audio system" is covered. i'm going to call honda and see where this goes. *wish me luck*
yahiii23 Try Acura Corporate, it should be under warranty if you have not messed with them. This is a pretty well know issue of the early tech models. Many have gotten it done under warranty. Maybe check another Acura dealer/ service dept. Some times one dealer doesn't want to do it and they deny it, so another might be able to help you out? tsx.acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=761917
+Jorge Andujar No you do now. Under the car under the fog light are access flaps. Remove the plastic chips and you will be able to get to them. Actually their are detailed instructions in the owners manual I believe.
No, you can do it from the wheelwell. Take off the wheel, remove the cover and you can access it. I replaced mine without removing the bumper. I know it's a 7 year old comment. But someone else might have the same question :)
excellent video!! Any hints on where i can buy aftermarket Flog light kit? i have the basic TSX also have you converted to LED running light/high beam ? if so, which brand did you use or recommend
If you search 'acura tsx fog light' on ebay there is a listing with the housing and cover. You will need to do the wiring yourself. I have a video replacing the DRL/hi-beam with withe LEDs. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qKc5f-ETyrw.html
Yes, the bumper comes unpainted (unless stated otherwise). You would need to drop it off at a paint shop to mach and paint the bumper. However, if you buy the Aero (sports) bumper it comes painted (just make sure to check with dealer first.)
Someone stole my Acura emblem a couple of days ago and it pains me every time that I glance at my front grill. I stopped by Acura today to buy the emblem. Luckily they have one in stock for $47, which is considerably more expensive than buying it online. However, I need it NOW, so i don't mind paying$47. Where they got me was that they said the grill would need to be completely disassembled to install the emblem and they want to charge me double. My question is, can the emblem be installed without that trouble? It seems like it's a push nut.
Just the "A" right? It should only be held on with double sided tape. Hence why it was so easy to steal... Just peel the tape and stick it back on. If their is no tape get the red 3M double sided tape from homedepot (at homedepot it says outdoor tape) or at a car shop. There are two holes but they don't need screws or anything. The emblem will have 2 prongs that go into those holes. All they do is make sure the emblem is aligned properly.
Blu-TSX wow! Yes, just the A. Unbelievable, they made it seem like those two prongs go through the back and clipped through the back. Yes, I can see where there was some two sided tape. Thanks for the info.
Yes, but its difficult because it's hard to reach and your basically doing it blind; by just feeling around. I'd suggest removing the bumper, it just gives better access. However, yes it is possible without removing the bumper.
Ugh, you might be able to squeeze in from the bottom. However, it'd be beneficial to know how to take out the assembly just in-case. I know it's allot of work just to change the headlights... The problem is they use special HID bulbs with fancy clips and stuff. Not your typical twist and replace bulb. Here's a link on how to disassemble the headlight. tsx.acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=767424&highlight=change+headlight+bulb
Sorry for spamming you bro. But here's how you get the actual bulb out and replace it. It's for a 1st gen TSX but same process. You can see that it will just be 10x easier if you can just remove the whole headlight from the car. That way you can see everything you're doing, instead of feeling around. www.tsxclub.com/forums/1st-gen-car-care/43854-diy-replacing-low-beam-d2s-bulbs.html
You don't really need to. If the lights are off their shouldn't be any electric going to it, so it wouldn't short anything. Although if you really wanted to be sure you could disconnect the battery. Just make sure you have your radio code ready if you radio resets.
Nope, In the instruction manual it will tell you how to without removing the bumper. You need to remove a couple clips on bottom of the bumper, on each side. Then there will be a black plastic flap that opens to change the bulbs.
To be honest I'm not entirely sure what's a good method of doing this. I don't want to put out any unconfirmed information here, so I'll send you a PM and help you the best I can.
