My favorite part of this scene is how the volcano ALWAYS moves slightly slower than the characters. Driving in a car? It's slightly below driving speed. Flying in a plane? It's fast enough to completely overtake it. Climbing up a cliff? It will stop and wait a bit for you to let you finish.

this is one of those films you watch not for the plot, bcs it sucks, but for those effects.. look at those destruction.. there's something satisfying about watching the world burn..

@@AndySaenz we would certainly feel its effects all over the world but the ash cloud wouldn’t actually reach everywhere in the globe, it would realistically only cover the entirety of the North American continent before dissipating into the atmosphere after a very long period of time. The American continent would thus become uninhabitable and inhospitable since the ash cloud’s toxic gases would have eventually killed all life wether it be plants, animals or people and it would have also initiated something called a “volcanic winter” which would have rendered the emergence and thriving of any life whatever it may be nearly impossible. You better pray to God that the Yellowstone caldera doesn’t actually erupt in our lifetime. 😅
