The Bike Show attends the launch in Port Elizabeth and we give you some feedback on whether it is worth while to trade in your 2011 Fireblade for the latest version.
Awesome bike, no gadgets or fly by wire, great chassis, and cheaper than all the rest... and if you want something that handles well out of the crate, this is the bike...
Even in 2016 I'm interested in this bike because it's such a good road bike compared to something the race bike the R1 is now. And they are very cheap to buy right now. Not popular, so if you want a new one dealers are selling them at cost to be rid of them.
I have the snub nose repsol 2010 fireblade and I love everything about it its a true road bike for fast Sunday blasts , the torque is sensational for everyday riding and handling is great yeah there's faster bikes out there with more electronics and more bhp however in the real world they can't touch the fireblade
You're one of my favorite riders! Luv BikeShow...are you in down under? I'm here in the states Missouri it sucks. I'm 63 luv the Fireblade but since I'm huge and like to carry a passenger ill stick with my lasts-forever '97 Cbr1100xx it's pretty fast too!
Why does it suck that you're in Missouri? That's some of the best road ways you'll find . How big are you also.. I'm 6'1 250 and looking at getting one of these. Plus I will have my girl on board at times
Thumbs up if you are watching this at the end of 2015 ! Nearly 4 years later and still no update to the bike !! Honda we are very disappointed. Do something !!!
There have been rumours of a Honda V4 litrebike for years now. It won't happen. (And the 2012 1000RR has heavier wheels than the 2011 model, I believe).
Am I the only one who likes the "snub nose" 09-11 best? Oh by far! Like a puff adder with a rat in its gob, rather that the pointy shark look like everything else in the world.
When i bought a ferrari, some asked; Why id you not buy a bugatti v? They are much faster. When i bought a cbr 1000rr, some asked; why did you not bought a busa? they are much faster. Kids; why is my gf more pretty than yours? And my dad is stronger than your dad.ahahahahahaaha. Read and answer comments from kids or kids minded brains are not always easy!
I've been waiting for the v4 fireblade since it was first "pictured" (i.e., CGI mock up) as an exclusive on the cover of MCN since 2006. Don't hold your breath.
Karl Hungus power delivery is smoother due to better engine primary balance. amount of power is much of a muchness disadvantage: packaging, 2 cylinder heads, basically more expensive to build
Not really. The VFR800 has less power than the CBR600RR and in terms of torque for displacement makes less torque per CC as well (62nm for 599cc vs. 75nm for 782cc). vs the blade it isn't even close, the blade has 112nm for 999cc (for the 08-11)
There's something awesome about Hondas that apparenty a lot of people,riders/so called riders dont seem to get afetr all these years of Blade history..Hondas arent about shoulder ripping power man..Its about making the rider feel safe and enjoy the ride..Its about feedback, tons of feedback, its about intuitive handling and linear delivery..Thats Honda's heritage bitches!!!!!
Horsepower isn't everything, the Fireblade boasts in handling and comfort, a rider who is comfortable is able to push his limits more and is therefore faster.
Its a fantastic motorcycle for the money. It is easy to ride, very reliable, and the handling is great...warning..the stock tires on the bike suck. Make sure they are warm before you push it or you WILL be high siding.
The only thing I would like to see is a TFT screen. and maybe kill that ugly over weight exhaust but thats what the after market is for. I agree this bike doesn't need the fancy electronics. Maybe ABS would be my only choice.
+Pedro “CrazyDiavelRider” C - I believe ABS is available on the CBR1000RR this year. As for display, I'd be happy with an analog tach and speedometer. A bike like this should move needles.
+Karl Hungus I wrote off my first 2012 cbrrr1000 a minivan turned left and struck my left side..a mother later I bought the same bike but the old owner upgraded it and the engine command makes a big difference, both bike have ABS and it make a difference.. these bikes are coooooooool..John McPint TT Isle of Man will tell you
Honda supersports in general are more road focused with more midrange punch and a more comfortable ride. Most supersports owners (myself included), won't ever take their bikes on the track. I don't need to make all my power up top, and if I did, I'd buy an R6 instead of my CBR600RR.
never been a fan of the car fireable, had 3 of different ages, traded up and i now have an rd500 and a ducati 999 find both of them much more fun than the fire blade
I agree totally. my next bike will be the ZX10R. on a track the BM & ZX would have the advantage. in the real world your local twisties the midrange of the Blade does make it an easy bike to ride. Ive got a 675R have trouble finding roads that you can ride that to its full potential. anyway who cares I think all the litre bikes are excellent. I would be happy to be given any of them. does'nt matter what you own, long as ya got ya arse on a bike !
I hear what you're saying. I started off on a CBR 600RR and there was a build quality to it that the Suzuki doesn't quite have. I just seem to feel more confident on Honda's. I've only ridden Honda & Suzuki tho. Some prick wrote my 2010 gixxer off and I've seen these 2012 blades going for around £7800 now (trade price). I'll probably end up going back to Honda.
Also true. But that little edge the honda has when it comes to just opening up the throttle; last only a couple seconds. Then the bmw and zx10 fly by it after that. So the midrange power isn't really an advantage at all over the other bikes. In my opnion.
kinda different story since its 2 cilinder machine, and honda, kawasaki and bmw has 4 of them. but ktm is great bike in my opinion, if you have the money since its not that cheap. rather compare it to Ducati:)
true but the bmw or the zx does'nt have the midrange the blade has. took 1 for a testride the other day and they are a great bike. have a look at motorcycle USA street and track test, good review !
I'm also looking other bike but Ducati Panigale is too expensive, Suzuki and Kawasaki Ninja I don't like their design and exhaust, so the only choice I think is CBR1000RA NEW 2014
