I recently drove 2 hours to look at a 2004 fire blade. Everything sounded and looked great in the listing/pics, but as soon as I saw it in daylight (not the poorly lit garage it was in) I knew it was a dog. I could tell visually the bodywork was Chinese replica stuff. The chain had massive tight spots in it, and every nut and bolt were furred or corroded. On closer inspection the wiring was all over the place and everything looked tired. Also whilst in the pics it looked very clean it was pretty filthy. I did start the bike nonetheless and it sounded superb for around 4 or 5 minutes, then a really nasty cam chain rattle emerged abruptly. As annoying as it is, keep your head and walk away from a lemon.
Great video with some cracking info, wish Id seen this before I bought that dog of an Aprilia. Got all excited and blurted out " Ill have it " as soon as he wheeled it out of the garage. Cost me a fortune to get that piece of crap sorted. Before you buy a bike watch this .
