On our 2012 Jeep I colored matched the front grille and rear plate and painted all trim gloss black. Jeep was clayed and polished and ceramic coated. Headlights were built with led switchbacks.
Look fresh af, buddy! I'm building one myself. But it's a 2011 with 114,000 miles on it. Black on black. I'll be posting my build once it's completed too.
@@RandomRichZ Actually its lasted up until the last month starting to chip but only on the corner of the small rear glass maybe I just didn’t sand as much there bc its both sides but all four doors still holding good.
I have a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee as well. Can you help me out cause my black is fading too. How much do you charge to do that? You did a wonderful job sir.!!Wow..
I used the gray paint code thru the vin, got the paint from touchup direct just put your car info in and they will blend your paint. touchupdirect.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI052ltvy_-wIVCsOGCh1aXwq7EAAYASAAEgJpvPD_BwE
I was hoping you showed how to remove rocker molding. I need to remove and paint mine but unsure how hard it will be to remove without breaking any of the plastic tabs
I showed a little bit on the video it wasnt hard there aren't any clips, just use a heat gun and a plastic pry tool and take it slow, but even though the jeep is 10 yrs old it wasn't that hard or brittle
Thank you, yes it has a 2" leveling kit from rough country. I'm not running spacers its the offset from the wheels I believe its an 18x9 -5mm v-rock recoil wheel
Thank you, I have the anzo headlights we got these back like 4 years ago they were some much cheaper i think now they are like 400 bucks or so, I ran them stock up until this video I opened them up and added a switchback led strip in them. eliteracefab.com/products/anzo-2014-2015-jeep-grand-cherokee-projector-headlights-w-plank-style-design-black?currency=USD&variant=36963125526696&Google%20Shopping&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIvZLi26PF9QIVRhitBh0kpQaREAQYByABEgIc1fD_BwE
I just did a light sand with 600 starting moving up to 2000 grit. Then primed, and did base coat. The clear though you have to make sure its at least 2K clear if spraying from a can now if you use the gun it would be better but I used the 2K clear from a can and its held up nicely.
Thank you so much bro I thought you wouldn't reply since it's been two years but your truck came out sick I just got Mines last week same year same color bro and I loved how you left t
Full respect, like 👍 and subscriptions. ✊…Thanks. 🤝 How did You remove nickel plating from mirrors? One more: what kind of LED bulbs did You put in your headlights?
Thank you sir. The mirrors were already factory painted, i just dissasembled and painted the textured plastic. The led bulbs i used i got off amazon it was these kind. www.amazon.com/dp/B01H6NZ7D8/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_CAR5W5ZEX6J6G5GFV9SK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Yes, so at the time when i bought them like 6 yrs ago these were the only ones I could find even though they say 14-15 they still mount up in the same holes I didnt modify anything else. But today there are way more options I found a set similar that does the same thing for 320 bucks or so. www.protuninglab.com/02-az-jgc11-pbc-p-c.html
On amazon they were anzo headlights, but I replaced with these, www.amazon.com/AmeriLite-2011-2013-Switchback-Projector-Headlight/dp/B09WMSQL42/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_sspa?crid=36B39NTE6XT6I&keywords=2012+jeep+grand+cherokee+headlights&qid=1696431172&replacementKeywords=headlights&sprefix=2012+jeep+g%2Caps%2C88&sr=8-2-spons&vehicle=2012-42-349------------&vehicleName=2012+Jeep+Grand+Cherokee&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRm&psc=1
Hi Rico, nice follow along on the 2012 GC. I’m about to do some of the same things. Right off the bat it looks as if it was very easy to remove the front bumper cover as well as the rear lower valance. I know the attachment hardware is fatigued I’m sure how easy is it to remove said pieces front & rear without breaking them? I always have a fall back plan, what fasteners are needed and most likely to snap off, where did u get them Mopar? I’m sure I’ll have more questions, is this forum ok to discuss freely or do u suggest other? I like the wheel spacers I have em too. Best Regards, Tom R
Hey Tom, yes this is ok to discuss on here, the fastners i had the most struggle with were the ones behind the fender flares those mostly break, i just bought had a spare box from amazon with different fastners in it. Most of the other fastners/bolts were easy to come off.
Hi Rigo, thanks for your reply much appreciated. With over 200k on the clock have you had any ticking sounds from the top end of the 3.6l? The 2012 looks very nice, good job! Be well stay safe and healthy. Tom
m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XkrwxVVcjsg.html See part two as well. I just replaced all rockers & lifters with parts made in the USA. m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XkrwxVVcjsg.html Something to think about. I’ve got 147k on mine & had one bad rocker & lifter, replaced all 24&24 not taking the intake off every time a Tick starts
I’m interested in your headlight choice. I personally hate switchback. I want LED bars that stay on when turn signals are on. I like the way those were designed to begin with. My question for you though is how they physically fit. Those are for the 2014-15 years. Did you ever do anything to close the gap along the bottom?
No I left the gap, I didn't do anything back then when I installed these lights there were not alot of options and I had seen headlights like this installed with that gap and I was lile well it doesn't look that bad so went with it. But ueah they are not tight enough that gap is there unless you pay attention to it exactly its not that noticeable
@@RigoG09 The company that made those for the 2014-15s did make slightly taller one for 2011-13s that wouldn’t result in the gaps. It’s the ones with the ‘double L’ white bar shape in each. I like the C shape much better though. So I can understand why you went with that. It’s a trade off. I could only tell because I’m currently searching through all the headlight options available right now and pause & scroll videos to analyze. You’re right, a lot wouldn’t notice. Overall I like what you’ve done btw, kudos 👍
They are anzo headlights from this website. eliteracefab.com/products/anzo-2014-2015-jeep-grand-cherokee-projector-headlights-w-plank-style-design-black?currency=USD&variant=36963125526696&Google%20Shopping&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuLG5sv3V9gIVTweICR3n2g4tEAQYAiABEgJMffD_BwE
I took it off by removing the top valence with the platic tabs then, the 4 bolts holding it from the top, and then on both front fenderwells there are bolts to remove and also pull the fender flares off, finally 4 bolts under the front bumper remove the whole bumper, which gives u access to the grille.
Hey you can find them on this website. But if you want the same function as the ones in the video you have to open them up and change out the led inside. www.lmperformance.com/837390/111329-anzo-usa-jeep-grand-cherokee-projector-headlights-w-plank-style-design-black.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI2s3IibC79AIVxa6GCh2Z_wLJEAQYBiABEgLagPD_BwE

Hi Rico, Would you say that plastic black dip is better or gloss black? How did you paint the "Jeep" emblem black? Do you think on a silver jeep it would be the same painting it the same car color or would you say it would be better to leave it or change it to black? How did you make the back head lights darker?
I think the gloss black is better has better contrast. The front jeep emblem I ordered a black one off amazon and replaced it but the rear, I vinyl wrapped it gloss black I couldn't find and black emblems. On a silver one I think color matched will look good but you can't go wrong painting it black either. The headlights were from Anzo they came black already on the inside I just opened them up and installed those led strips in them.
Thank you, the headlights are from anzo. eliteracefab.com/products/anzo-2014-2015-jeep-grand-cherokee-projector-headlights-w-plank-style-design-black?currency=USD&variant=36963125526696&Google%20Shopping&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8aHdmo6O9QIV9hbUAR0g4wP5EAQYAyABEgL72vD_BwE
Why does everyone hate Chrome so much, and if you do why not just buy a Laredo without chrome?? I have a 2011 limited with chrome everything and I added polished stainless to the door trim and polished stainless nerf bars, as well as a polished stainless bull bar. I see so many people plasti dipping everything to eliminate chrome, which is going to eventually chip and peel and look like shit. If you're going to do it, powder coat it and do it right, but CHROME RULES
When you got no money, Plasti dip is the way to go. I actually plastic dipped my bmw rims and sprayed a gloss coat on top about 7 times and it stayed pretty well. Chrome looks nasty, especially if your car is a darker color, it looks more dominant too. I hate chrome, I’m trying to black my Jeep out little by little.
