Katelyn Ohashi is just unreal. It's too bad she didn't stick around the senior elite circuit for long, she could've had an incredible career... but UCLA is glad to have her!
I'm glad she found her joy again in collegiate gymnastics, she's talked about how utterly miserable she was in elite. She looks so much happier and healthier now. 💓
Dang....UCLA royalty....What a great meet to go bk and watch after seeing the top 4 in AA and 3 / 4 of events compete (1 coach) together as grown women and win the NCAA championship together 5 yrs later. So awesome.
Watching this in March 2020 & loving it. Can’t wait for the 2020 Olympics gymnastics, whenever the Olympics may happen. Everyone please stay safe! ⚡️🤸♀️⚡️🇺🇸🏅
Wtf was Peng Peng's scores? I was looking forward to seeing those. This broadcast is set up so stupidly..... And why were there montages just of gymnasts falling?
I loved Katelyns floor music here, she is such an incredible gymnast and an even better person. So glad she was able to find happiness at UCLA after such a rough time mentally and emotionally in elite
Knowing what Katelyn Ohashi was experiencing during that time makes it really sad. Thank goodness she found joy in gymnastics through UCLA. The coaches should have faced disciplinary action for how they treated her- and others. I also feel so bad for Georgia Simpson, it basically ended her Olympic dream.
I love how when our USA girls fumble on beam or floor, or an apparatus, the commentators go "oh minor fumble." Or "minor, small wobble." But when a different country does it they go "wow major fumble from her."
@@fairyofshampoooo That's why I'm not a fan of him. People justify him by saying "at least he actually knows his stuff" or "he's just giving constructive criticism" when him, elfie, and al have said some legit offensive things about some gymnasts. Plus he's extremely biased towards certain gymnasts even if their from the US. Like you can give great commentary and support your countries athletes without shaming other countries gymnasts. BBC and other places don't have a problem doing it
After hearing the tragedy that the New Zealand team endured, it really does show that they are tough and deserve to be on the spotlight. At 47.00 when I heard the floor music my heart skipped a beat. Perfect song!
+iamkarenh Their gym was destroyed because of an earthquake in their hometown. About 100 or so people died. And instead of giving up they helped repair their gym.
@@extra_ice_girla huge number of countries, including the US donated money and equipment to help rebuild. A great example of humanity coming together for one another. Courtney McGreggor eventually made it to the Olympics for them in 2016!
Peng Peng Lee's beam routine was insane. Also It seems that some of Elvira Saadi's beautiful dance rubbed off on Victoria Moors, she has great choreography.
When Sixin missed a handstand on bars. she tried to keep swinging, but when she hit the floor, her right wrist looked like an injury because it was twisting as she stopped swinging, and eventually hit the floor, The fact that she was crying as she came back solidified my observation. It could have been that she was crying because she hit the ground and made a huge mistake, it could have been. There is always the possibility about an injury in gymnastics..........
Charlotte Sullivan of New Zealand faced a huge deduction as she sort of landed out of bounds on her first pass. She didn't exactly land out of bounds per se, but she stumbled there.
I have never understood why they call it mounting and dismounting the floor, especially the dismount. It cracks me up. I just call it the beginning and end esp since there's no mounting or dismounting actually happening.
I would have worded it a lot differently than +Lockon Stratos. I think they were just resting them because they knew that they could skip this meet because they could just use Kyla and Jordyn plus get one other senior experience.
That was one of my all-time favorite floor routines. Loved the music and choreography! Not to mention she had some pretty rock solid tumbling too! You dont see that kind of package much in gymnastics these days! And I dont think anyone would say that she was a great dancer but they just put that routine together so well for her it just worked from start to finish. Well done!
1:13:08 I literally said WHAT Kara Eaker is here???? Seriously, they could be sisters. I mean, Kara was adopted so maybe they really are family, but WOW they look identical.
She was a beast in London! Wth?! She led her team to AA Gold. Oh....with a broken bone in her leg.(stress fracture?) u can see the injury as plain as day in the floor final. (Yeah--she made the finals. In the olympics!)
Yep! I was so sad she didnt qualify to the individual AA. It was just unfortunate timing for her. Gabby peaked at the perfect time and also only her and the usa coaches new it but Jordyn was actually competing with an injured during the games. Dont get me wrong she didnt totally blow it or anything she was still great but her teammates happened to be better when it counted most.
that was exactly what i was thinking! I mean in the 2010 worlds in the vault finals they downgraded russian vaults because they were missing a hair to complete the 2 1/2, douglas completely missed the full extra 1/2 twist
No they said she wants to go to rio 2016. She obviously wants to. No gymnast like her is going to train as hard as she does and compete so many times like she does, and not go to Olympics. She wants to go to rio.
You didn't hear what the judges said happened? She didn't just commentators her ankle, her leg bent out of place and I think there was tissue exposed. That's why her teammates and others were so horrified. There was blood on the floor too which is why I'm shocked they let gymnasts still perform
I wanna see the Aussies get their WAG team to the absolute TOP. I want to see them separated by one hundredth from the 1st place USA team at the Olympics one day. ;) (USAG will always have my heart)🎀💓💓💓🎀
The man talking saying it’s not cold in there, we’ll dude, your not down there sweating. Ya know, you get chilled sometimes and they may not be acclimated to the changes in temps. Geeze dude.🤦🏼♀️
Oh wait, it was the double? Ok, then good, but if she had done the 2 1/2, the consequences for the hand slipping could have been much worse, torn ACL, like Mustafina, who knows what could have happened if she had ended up doing the Amanar/
