Balls to the video comment about the gearshift. I ran my S at Lime Rock and Sebring without a hitch, even at redline.

I give tons of credit to Lotus, Porsche, BMW, and Chevy (Corvette) for continuing to offer manual transmission. Can't say the same about Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Aston Martin.

i also heard that the evora with H shifter has a faster 0-60 time, then the automatic paddle version.

isn't it slower to gear change with a manual transmission compared to an automatic with paddles? or is there more too it?

because Toyota make the most of relatively small displacement engines and still have plenty of potential that lotus can build too. Also Toyota have plenty of interchangeable options such as the V6 in this can be fitted to 4 different Toyota transmission housings. And ultimately, yea... they're pretty good value.

Oh paddle shift is definitely faster...but manual is way more fun than paddle shift, aka "glorified automatic." :)

@trickykid3000 No - about the same cost. I think the 911 S is about $10,000 more, but it's also much more luxurious. I've driven both (not the new 911, the last gen). The 911 is smoother, more "German," like an Audi. The Evora S is really, really razor-sharp and more exciting to drive. Also much more exclusive. But probably way more unreliable.

This car is actually faster then my old 2002 911 Turbo which is approx 117G rand american dollars and rattled after the first year!

It's a sick version of the Camry engine though lol, and atleast you know that it's not going to fall apart, and not many people can afford the car, and you basically get a reliable Ferrari, you can buy a Ferrari F360 for about the same price but it will have 15 grand in repairs over the course of two years, and who the fuck wants such a hassle that you have to constantly worry what kind of fucked up thing your car is gonna screw you with next. Its like a car that plots against you. Pointless

How come these so called experts of car reviews never tell us how tall they are. This guy looked like he was in a sardine can. I suspect this car is designed for people shorter than 6'-0" and 180 pounds ... Well that is about 50% of the American market.... What about tall athletes in the NBA or NFL MLB or NHL ... They have the money to purchase this car in a second ... but they won't case they don't fit in it. ... Wake up Lotus stop making sports cars for midgets.

Who cares about the lotus brand... Their cars seem to be pretty crappy for the price... I mean, my dads Corvette goes faster than this "prestigious" car... Idk... It just seems like a brand thing... I'd go with Porsche any day.. :/
