today we got a first official cold start up, exhaust revs, engine bay revs and some pulls on the 2012 Mercedes CLS 550 ! it is a bone stock CLS 550 ( for now ) LOL!
As a 2014 CLS 550 owner I like your review. One thing worth mentioning about Sport Mode is that the throttle’s relationship to the Fuel Metering Unit (FMU) is mapped differently. The throttle commands the FMU to give more gas at lower throttle depths with less improvement as you dig deeper into the throttle line. Economy Mode is the other way around.
I have a 2012 cls550 and it's an absolute beast stock, definitely lot of mods you can do for performance as well as exterior mods. The biggest issue for these engines is the camshaft adjusters that tend to be a pain in the ass lol
Thank you! Yeah man watch out for leaky bags in the suspension! They are common for that! Also make sure every button works on the interior. But the bags are the major thing you should look out for!
I am looking at a 2012 CLS550 around $23k with 130k on it in Toronto. You think it’s a good buy? What should I look out for? This is going to be my first car, should I go for it or get a 2016 C300 which would be good on gas relatively.
The major issue to look out for would be cam adjusters and i would look into doing a check valve upgrade so you can prevent all the issues from happening
