Perfect! That’s why I made this video! And lots more to come! You can actually hear the turbos spool more but it’s hard to hear on camera! Go for it all the best!
Aye man.. big thanks for sharing this. I was able to find the x pipe .. however do you mind sharing the diameter of the pipes used to replace the resonators?
Came across your channel. Lots of great content. I own a 2012 CLS 550. Can you share where I can buy a catalytic converter, where they do great upholstery. Anything helps.
The rear muffler is where all the sound deadening is at. Once you remove those, it will be much louder than what you have now. I did something similar, I also removed rear resonator, replaced with x pipe. but kept front resonators, and removed rear mufflers. Then I gutted the cats. I’m tuned so it’s all good. Interestingly gutting the cats only added a little bit of sound. I know people that have have straight pipes from the turbo back. Way too loud for me.
@@Redlineracinggarage appreciate it bro. I’m loving your content bro. You’re making so much content on the CLS and I’m learning so much about my car man! Cheers bro
Very nice bro 👍🏻 just wondering if will pass smog check, here in California are big about that also how much was for everything out the door. Thanks bro 🤙🏻
Amazing video. Btw, where did u get those pipes to install for the resonators? I am trying to get the same stuff as you becuz I don’t know wat I’m doing. This is my first time so I want to know the width of those pipes and where did you get it (if possible) so I can give it to a car mechanic to stick it for me. Any help would be appreciated 🙏
@@Redlineracinggarage I am almost ready to go to a muffler shop, but before that I want to know if there has been any warnings or issues you have been getting from the dashboard symbols or etc after installing this x-pipe? Because there is no going back after installing it… Also, want to know how much the labor cost for you to set up the x-pipe? any help would be appreciated 🙏
@@ragemode9622 there are no warning lights that come on you should be good! As for labour cost I can’t remember what I paid but it wouldn’t be more than $250 CAD
So the cold start is the same? That’s my old concern. I have a 2014 ML550 with rear muffler delete and the cold start is LOUD. I’m going to keep my front resonators and do the x-pipe. Prob going to be really loud haha
Yeah, cold start with the resonator delete and x pipe is not that different. When you get into the muffler delete, then and only then it get LOUD on cold start. I did my muffler delete also have a video of sound comparison check it out
I have a question for you regarding my Mercedes Benz CLS550 2013 car. I have 45,000 miles on my car. My car does not have any symptoms related to Transmission. Do I need to change the transmission fluid ?
There is a set timer on the computer and it will let you know when you need to service it for example A9, A7. They all have a meaning what service needs to be done you can google it !
@@Redlineracinggarage awesome thanks sounds great will do this to my cls I was thinking of just getting a cut out exhaust install cause I sometimes don’t want to hear anything but this sounds great not too loud
@@Redlineracinggarageso what comes first from the backside of the car ? First mufflers, than big resonator, than 2 small resonators. Or first muffler, than 2 small resonators, than big resonator ?
@@Redlineracinggarage that’s strange because I actually went from h pipe to x pipe and it did just the opposite for me. It seems to have slowed flow much more and lowered overall volume. It is also less raspy. I have an NA engine so not sure if that makes a difference.
@@Dnasty1 yes it does matter if you have a na or boosted motor because turbo motor create more back pressure and na make less so the sound if different
@@Dnasty1 my opinion is that you need a x pipe for a turbo and h or x for na is fine either way. The x flows much better than h in both applications but I just think x fir turbo is better The only reason they put x or h pipes is so that you can create back pressure BUT the x flows better.
