It depends what you do with the 2.7 This guy is no idiot when it comes to using the 4x4 and I would buy his truck used. I'm buying the Tacoma but I will be towing in the Rockies so I have to get the 3.5 and 4x4 access cab. I did back roads with dune buggies growing up and we did not over rev the engines.
hey i see this was posted about a year and a half ago now. was wondering if you had any regrets going with the 265/75/16 over 285? can't decide which to go with
I'm happy with my choice. It didn't cause any rubbing and being a 4 cylinder I didn't want to move the extra bulk. I feel if I went to 285 or larger I'd definitely want to regear.
3.5... I upgraded to a 2016 3.5 Tacoma Access Cab Off-Road and I am enjoying it way more than the previous. The amenities you get compared to the bare bones truck, the additional power, increased interior space. It's the way to go.
Zachary E my question is it’s reliability. I’ve always been skeptical on new engines and their long term life. I’m sure it’s great cause it’s a Yota but not sure. I wouldn’t mind her more power though
@@ghilliemanreviews Theres all kinds of tacoma facebook groups you can join to see that these trucks regardless of the year they are reliable as ever. Just a few days ago I stumbled across a post about a guy at 750 thousand miles on a 2016 3.5 and the only work done aside from basic maintenance was a tranny at 402k. I have a 2.7L 2014 and I'm about to sell it. I would never buy the 2.7l again.
+lakailf Thanks! Engine 100% stock... haven't even changed the air filter. Has more than enough power necessary for this sort of stuff imo. Smaller and lighter is the way to go :D
Where did you get that exact toolbox? I've been looking for a high profile place weather guard box just like that for my '12 Tacoma and I can seem to find one just like that
+Camilo Garcia I believe this is the exact model I got: #137-5-01 and can be found for around $670. I got mine on ebay personally and although it arrived slightly damaged I was given a 10% refund so I think my total was $580. I certainly would recommend it though. I've had only one issue with the box when it is super hot out and the black absorbs the heat the glue loses stickiness and the gasket falls down off the lid when opening. It's got to be SUPER hot for this to happen and probably if I used a little adhesive it'll fix it. Other than that it's a great box.
+Camilo Garcia This size is nice by the way because you can slide bags of mortar/long items under the box and to the side as it doesn't go all the way to the floor.
Nice truck! What are you rocking for wheels? I have a 2012 regular cab Tacoma as well. Mine is metallic grey with a leveling kit, 33" Terra Grappler tires and 17" XD series rims, the grey ones that match my trucks paint. On the front i have a Weston bull bar and skid plate w skinny rectangle led lights. It's pretty slick. Your truck is too, respect.
Appreciate the kind words! The wheels are 16x8 FN Wheels. 32" Toyo RT. Because we just have 4 bangers I didn't want to go too crazy and have zero power with massive tires. These wheels are really light so from stock to this I gained about 10lb per corner which isnt bad. Sounds like we have similar sizing :)
