Sub 3 is a really, really good time; but keep in mind these guys and gals are putting up mid 2:0X and 2:2X. What I do know is you keep training and working at it you will be far, far faster than you ever imagined possible. Definitely a process though, good runners are not formed over weeks, months, or even years.
* ...You know what?.........Somehow, I KNEW he was going to WIN First Place ( even BEFORE the START of the race) !!! ; ) As soon as he was in view, he just had this amazing positive confidence & great determination, that really stood out! His extremely confident attitude, is a big part of why he WON this day!! ~
This will be me in 2016 and I am going to start running marathons with hansons running shop and I know the coaches very well they gave my a plane ticket to London for the 2012 games. RIO DE JANEIRO IS MY GOAL!!!!!!!
Hi, do you perhaps have the 2016 trials as well? Thanks for this upload. Edit: I see it has been removed. Maybe you could upload it to Dailymotion or Vimeo?
To me I feel like the USs only chance might come down to Meb...not just becasue he won this one, but he's had more experince agaisnt some of the international comp.
Yeah it's really impressive ain't it?! The amount of training they do is unreal though. At least 120 miles a week for most I recon, my legs and most people's legs would be useless after 1 week of that.
Robert Harrington Ritz placed 9th in the Marathon in Athens. He dropped out of the 10k in Sydney, but admittedly was just there for the experience. He had a nagging stress fracture and limped home in the last place at the trials…However, he was the only other runner to have the Olympic Standard so he went.
Hall almost always tried to run to his potential. Taking out all those qualifiers that had no real chance at actually winning the thing right away. Sad to see that only the very top of the elite marathoners on the mens side run this way (Kipchoge, Kipsang) and others just look for placing and are content to sit and run a pedestrian first half. Just look at the Chicago Marathon this year with Braune leading for almost an hour. Come on Aaron Braune are you kidding me. Disgraceful.
AFter what happened with the year Prefontain was in the Games, you can never be to careful with the men and woman that are representing the USA in London and at the Trials
IN LONDON RYAN FADED BADLY IS HE INJURED AT THE MOMENT HE RAN A BRILLIANT MARATHON RAN 2HR 6 MIN ALSO BROKE MARC CURPS HALF MARATHON RECORD OF 60 MIN 55sec. BUT NOT HEARD OF HIM SINCE. AS AN AUSTRALIAN I REALLY LIKE GALEN RUPP TO MOVE UP THE MARATHON WHAT AN IMPRESSIVE RUNNER .
+Hayden Wittig He ran 2:06 on a downhill course with a tailwind. It was the same day Moses Mosop and Geoffrey Mutai ran the 2 fastest times in history.
Speaking of Washington capitols, the capitols robbed probably the best nhl team from making history in 2017 season. The vegas golden knights very well could have been the very first expansion team to win the stanley cup in its inaugural season.
Those are the slowest women runners being lapped. They run an 8 mile loop three times for the majority of the marathon course, and so some of the fastest men catch up to some of the slowest women.
Flanagan did not fix her heel striking and over-striding bad technique. Too bad she could run faster and improve running economy against Kenyan and Ethiopian racers.
Why do the girls not cut their long hair? It seems stupid to carry all that weight and wind resistance! To win, you need all advantages. I would wear tight bikinis if i were a girl...
You all probably dont care but does someone know a method to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid lost my login password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me.
@Kyler Messiah thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out atm. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
1:23:54 Such an amazing moment, telling the woman that finished two places behind you how proud you are of her. That's the definition of sportsmanship.
It's going to be exciting how the 2016 Olympic Marathon Trials will go! Since Meb Keflezighi and Abdi are more than likely retiring, there will be more opportunities for others to step up. I know it's WAY too early to be predicting the top three right now but if I were to choose it would be: Ryan Hall, Ryan Vail, and Dathan Ritzenhein.
I have mixed feelings about Ritz . . . I met him at the US XC Championships, and he seemed like kind of a cold person; he wasn't as friendly as Chris Derrick and Bobby Mack. Still, can't help but feel bad for the guy, not making the Olympic team by a few meters.
