Hey buddy, great video!! I have that issue with a 2018 Ford Explorer. Can You give me any pointers on how to fix it and around how much will it cost? Thanks.
I had that same issue just today. I had a flat tire, drove it to the gas station and the codes came on and steering wheel got hard. It should be the same problem right?
It could be. Just make sure the steering plug or conector don't have any corrosion, because, water gets into it, so I will start from there first. Good luck with that.
I had the electronic rack and pinion replaced. My 2011 Explorer is still saying service advance trac warning light. It still looses power when driving. Any ideas on what it might be?
There's a recall about that problem, you can take your car to the dealership and have it check and ask them if they can cover that part. Sometimes they dont covered that because , the miles are way too off, so if ur car has less than 63,000 miles you still get that fix for free.
hi, I have ford fiesta 2012 and same the problem with DTC code U300096, I have replaced it with a new eps module, but it has only been installed for about 10 minutes and the DTC code appears again. What should I do? thank you
There's a recalibration on those cars you need have the correct scanner to recalibrate. If that doesn't work you may have to take a look if there is any damage on the harness, check power fuse that goes to that module.
@@kilmarsalmeron6072 yes I have a ford ranger 2016 with the same problem, hard steering, only in hill descent, So what's the problem, module or reprogramming
@@Sirie7206I ended up replacing the steering rack with one from autozone. It fixed the locked up steering wheel but my traction control, and ABS light came on and it never went away I even tried to have it reprogrammed. So to fully fix the issue a OEM steering rack is needed along with the steering module
Why does ford alway mess things up this has never happened to me on older ford's whats the pont of it f that stupid module it could be fatal if your driving fast
My 2016 ford explorer lost power steering on my driveway with messages of steering power assit fault service required & Service AdvanceTrac &tracsion control lights off light 🚨, i am going to bring it to dealer today.
My wife’s 2014 ford transit connect cargo van is having problems with the steering, sometimes the steering works and sometimes you get in the car and steering doesn’t work and hard to turn, why did ford change the design of the steering with a electronic rack and penion without the steering pump, i was told don’t reinvent the wheel if the wheel is not broken, now ford customers have to spend alot of money to change out the hole rack and penion just to change the computer module, Ford did this on purpose so they can make money off their customers.
I had taken it to local ford dealership to get it reprogrammed . 7 months later i am experiencing the same exact no power steering issue. Whats even worst that i called to setup appointment at the same ford dealer to try get it reprogrammed AGAIN supposedly they want to charge me some money to get it reprogrammed again!
At this point if the vehicle still on warranty the have to replace the electric rack and pinion. This a internal problem it won’t go away by doing a reprogrammed!!! My suggest needs a new rack!.
I had mine replaced a couple years ago, installed a refurbished one and it just happened again today. This time it felt a little different. First few times I would lose power steering and was able to drive it home, but very hard up steer. This time it was still hard to steer, but instead of a smooth hard steer , it would stick on me which made it a challenge to drive.
Same issue 2011 ford explorer limited needs eletric power steering assembly replaced $2240 got ripped off by a dealer in Harrisburg sold me the vehicle with this problem if anybody in pa ill tell u the places to stay away from.
Mine never shutoff like that it started knocking or making noise when turning so I went a bought a new one then it failed like that after almost 8 miles! Second one failed too at about 10 miles so I'm stumped and can't afford the labor for another one it really sucks driving to get my essentials BTW I replaced the blinkers to LED and they were hyper blinking before I replaced the rack should I go back to stock Bulbs because the blinkers are tied in with the pscm?
@@rockysprague726 Hold on bro u saying your electric steering rack was failing like that brand new not remans after being installed less then ten miles? Or im missing a text here or something???
