Nice vedio but putting a vice grip on the strut pole is a very bad idea, if you as much as scratch the pole it will cause the seal to leak and secondly, if the strut pole is sliding down inside you pushing up you have a damaged strut. Quick tip. A bent strut pole will damage the mount.

To do this job properly you have to take the lower ball joint out and separate it from the knuckle and take the axle out of the knuckle. Remove the knuckle from the strut and the strut will come right out . This is not a job you should do on the street. You see he doesn’t show how he got the strut and knuckle lined back up.
