In this Video i go through the procedure i take to remove a MDPS unit on a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe- This is the same Procedure I use on my kia and hyundai vehicles with MPDS units.

Thanks a lot for the video!! is a really good information...I need to unmount the left panel at the steering wheel, where there are the buttons ECO, 4W LOCK and others, in order to access to the spaces with no buttons to install a switch...can you help me a little with that? Again, thanks a lot for the video and the help!!

Great video, thank you. If we plan on re-fitting a used electric steering colum from a donor car, do we also need the power steering computer module from the same donor car, or will the existing origional control unit work with the replacement colum. I am having to look at a pre-loved steering colum as there is an 8 week wait on delivery, and have to admit, the price differential is also a big factor. Also curious as to what reprogramming is required once it is installed. Many thanks.

The pivot bolt runs into the brake light switch on my vehicle ? Did you have to remove anything in that area ?

Great video. Did you have to do any reprogramming afterwards? And also did you think on changing the steering coupler first?

only reprogram the sas sensor after alignment, and yes i did think of changing the coupler, but the client decided on the whole assembly..

I have a 2018 Hyundai sante fe sport and the turn signal switch is broken right at the base and It hangs off, which is also the high beam and low beam. So by the looks of this the whole piece comes off for replacement😳. Wow. So other than cost for the part how much would the labor be in total?

Thanks, great video. Just used it to remove and replace my faulty light / turn switch. Wouldn't have had a hope without this! For anyone else watching, the steering release tabs in the two holes at the side of the wheel are a push. The video looks kinda like there's a twisting motion. It's a wee bit fiddly. 👍

Im having the issue of not being able to get it out even with the pivot bold loosened. It keeps hitting the brake switch. I just need to do the coupling but i felt like itd be easier to take the column down and here i am stuck.

Thanks for the awesome video. I have a 2014 Santa Fe and I notice a clicking noise when turning the wheel. I can almost feeling it in the steering wheel. Also, at a dead stop if I make a left it a right turn, it feels like the front wheels are stuttering when making the turn. Any ideas ? Thanks !

Hey man did you get a solution for it? I have exactly same thing on my 2015 2.4 fwd. I knew Clunking and steering wheel click was caused by $2 coupler but second symptom you mwntiones is just appeared. I think it needs new brakes but not so sure

@@yigitpar6492 the steering I haven’t fixed yet but that stuttering when turning was for the AWD system, something off the rear diff I think. Dealer fixed it. It was around $1,500

Hi quick question, towards the end, time stamp 7:01-7:04, is the upper steering column easily separated like that from the "middle" column (where the motor/mdps module)? when you put it back together, do you have to turn it to "lock" or something? the reason I'm asking is I encountered "Bearing noise" at the column when I turn the steering wheel left & right, even after put some grease. Not sure if I miss something or the bearing/or electric motor is bad. Thx

there is a recall for the bearing noise.. it sound like grinding while turning, you can check and see if you vehicle if affected by that recall.

@@JLsAutoSolution looks like after checking it, no recall. Good to know though. It was working fine until I replaced the coupler. It was easier when I separated the two columns. That's why I was wondering if I need to turn it to lock? or I'm missing something. I saw you turn the column a little.
