The #1, 12-0 Notre Dame Fighting Irish took on the #2, 12-1 Alabama Crimson Tide in the 2013 BCS National Championship Game from Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL. With this win, Alabama claimed its 15th national championship, and third in four years. It was the first time since 1978-1979 that Alabama had won back-to-back national titles and the only time any team won back-to-back BCS titles.

Yeah, the SEC was absolutely cracked that year. Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, A&M, and Bama all could have probably beaten any team that year. Notre Dame didn’t stand a chance compared to the level of coaching and recruiting going on then

Notre Dame should never ever be allowed to play in the Championship games. They just do not have the talent to play there. This game showed it, the '17 Championship game n the semi-final '21.
