It's a shame that their season was defined by an embarrassing Super Bowl loss because they were truly one of the most dominant offenses to ever take the field and this was, in my opinion, Peyton's most impressive season by far given his circumstances. 2 years removed from being physically unable to throw a football and he sets all sorts of records. Pure insanity.
@@jrad410 2004 was easily his best season. I find his body of work in 2013 to be more impressive simply given the fact that he quite literally could not throw a football 2 years prior to that season. He had no feeling in his arm basically and still managed to light up the league.
Seattle was just the better team. Broncos didn’t face a team that was physical and in your face all season. Until they met Seattle. Their outside skill players weren’t physical enough and had no chance against Seattle. Plus people forget that their defense was garbage. Even when von miller was in the lineup. That’s why they couldn’t stop Russell Wilson. Someone said it best. The broncos defense could have played their best of the entire season and they would have still lost.
@keyshawnbess572 I agree. That Super Bowl was the result of a terrible matchup more than anything else. Denver's offense struggled against physical defenses in general and Seattle basically forced Peyton to make tight window passes that he didn't have the arm strength to make anymore. And their defense got straight up ran through by Lynch all night. They stood no chance and once Seattle's offense got going, things got ugly very fast.
Its criminal how the average fan and even hard core fans just don’t acknowledge the 2015 Denver defense.. boggles my mind All ppl wanna talk about is ravens or steelers defense.. or legion of boom in the superbowl… ppl too distracted by the panthers that year
This was the best Peyton Manning runned Bronco offense I have ever seen, it’s just unfortunate that they ran into an avalanche in the legion of boom in the super bowl
This makes me sad because of Demariyus Thomas! The talent the man had. Peyton indeed had a security blanket. Welker, Moreno, Decker and Jullious Thomas could go crazy!
@@maddenmoments8748 either Rams or this Broncos offense. But like they say defense wins championships and it's hard to argue that there isn't a lot of hard(hitting) evidence to support this
@@bobbydavro6594 Or the Washington's '83 team. Or KC's 2018 team. So ironic that all these high powered teams historically don't actually win the Super Bowl.
people fail to realize this season Denver lost SOOOO many crucial players on the playoff run that the team that went to the Superbowl was a shell of itself. No Von Miller, no derek wolfe, i believe ryan clady was injured, no CHJ as well as many others.
Man watching this team was so fun. Every Sunday it was fireworks. Coming off of the sheer frustration after the 2012 divisional loss to Baltimore (Rahim Moore taking the worst angle to play the ball I've ever seen btw), Peyton and this team was out for blood and my god did they absolutely destroy teams and it was just insane to wath
@@SwayneIII SB48 was a pit stop for the real final chapter they rebuilt the defense and won Super Bowl 50 before their qb retired and never truly recovered
9 years, and still the most dominant Offense in NFL history. Only two QBs today have the potential to be in the helm of a team this potent. Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. Some other rising QBs might step up in that regard as well. Tua showing such potential. Until someone leads a better team... Peyton was a master for the Colts. But in Denver, he was a King.
3 things I took from this season: 1.) DT is the real deal and could’ve been a great if it weren’t for poor QB play to end his career. 2.) Moreno was an absolute unit in the backfield but was overlooked because of the pass game and his fumble issues. 3.) Even the best offense to Grace the game could still be beaten by a solid defense. Consistency is so important.
Knows honestly Moreno wasn't even supposed to be the starter in 2013. It's why they drafted Montee Ball (although the joke was on them). Knowshon played his heart out but only put together ONE good season, in 2013. All of a sudden, he flushed away a good thing because he wanted to get paid Barry Sanders money. Should just stayed put.
Even I was impressed with the Broncos 2013 offense. The cherry on top would've been a Super Bowl victory over Seattle. Unfortunately their defense was too strong for the Broncos to overcome
@@kobedagoat6395The seahawks scored more points just from defense and special teams than the Broncos scored all game. I don't really think it mattered. The seahawks were up 29-0 early in the 3rd with 16 coming from defense and special teams.
The passing excellence of the '13 Broncos gets talked about so much that it overshadows what a good season Knowshon Moreno had on the ground. Guy had 1,500 yards from scrimmage and is all over these highlights with some angry runs. It's such a bummer an ACL tear ended his career the very next season.
This team had a 24pt lead against the Pats at half time 24-0. The Patriots came back and tied it in the 4th to go into overtime. The Patriots won the coin toss and gave the ball to Peyton, stopped him and the Patriots won the game. Patriots down 24-0 at half to the greatest offense and the Patriots won the coin toss in overtime and gave the ball to Peyton and still beat them. 💪🏻….Lets GOOOOO!!!!
The 24.9 PPG allowed by the Broncos defense in 2013 is still the most ever allowed by a team to win 13+ games in a season. Their offense was historically great & Prater was an amazing kicker; but those two units (passing offense & STs) covered up a lot of weaknesses elsewhere in the roster.
The Broncos had the ability to change their identity so quickly. 2 years prior they were the most dominant rushing team, and 2 years after they were the most dominant defense. 3 years prior their passing was very potent also. They couldn't score, which ultimately meant it was meaningless, but they could move the ball between the 20's with no effort in the blink of an eye, and Orton was on pace to break Marino's passing record before getting hurt.
@@finchborat Lmao I lost in the championship to jamal Charles and Jimmy freaking graham. I’ll never forget they put up like 80 on me. Peyton and DT did horrible for me that week too
@@khalilwilliams3176 I lost my championship game to a former draft pick of mine that season: Josh Gordon Thinking he wasn't gonna do anything because he was with the Browns, I dropped Gordon after Week 1. Boy did I pay for that massive blunder.
@@khalilwilliams3176 Really bad. That was my biggest fantasy blunder ever. Had I kept him, I would've won my first PPR title (and first ESPN title) that year. And I would've 3-peated the next yr.
Lost my grandmother week 2 of the 2013 season and all I had was football and it made me so happy to see my Broncos rule the league but then I watch super bowl 48 and man didn’t Bruno mars put on a show i didn’t know a football game was on only a mass murder 🤦🏾♂️
I would take AB, Evans Godwin, Gronk and Fournette over that duo any day, problem was they were always injured. When on the field in 2021 especially with Brown they were unstoppable.

This one was of my favorite, if not favorite seasons ever. Every week was just something to watch. Yea they didn't win it all that year, but 2 years later they did.
I respect the hell out of that offense, I think it's one of the best of all time, but I still had to snort a little when the announcer said that no defense wanted to play them...There was ONE that DID want to play them...funny how they left that game out of this video, lol
@Lucas - they played one of the weakest schedules in the league, lost to N.E. with 132 passing yards, averaged less than 20 points in the playoffs and got utterly humiliated in the Super Bowl. Highly overrated team.
Despite so many playmakers, the only Bronco I had in fantasy that year was Demaryius Thomas. Had him in one league. If I knew Witten would be a fantasy bust from the get go, I would've tried to make a claim for Julius Thomas and would've had 2 in 2 leagues. On a side note, I'm surprised this was uploaded now and not next yr for the 10th anniversary of this historic offense. As a Patriots fan, it was kinda sad to see the 2013 Broncos replace the '07 team as far as the most recent example of historic offense.
Historic defenses without a offense can win it all. But historic offenses without defense can't win it all (unless defense steps up in playoffs like with the 99 Rams)
Oh you mean the same LOB that Brady beat next year in the Super Bowl and Brady won SB MVP against that same LOB. The LOB actually had a better defense statistically the year Brady played them in the SB, than when Peyton played them in the SB.
PEDton Manning* Manning was forced to retired 3yrs earlier than he wanted to, because he got caught taking PEDs. So it was either retire or keep playing and get suspended for 6 games for PEDs and have his whole career tarnished. Which it is, the 2013 *
And to think two years later the offense would suck and their defense would be the best in the league that gets them a ring, imagine if the 2013 Denver Offense and 2015 Denver Defense were put together, that team would be SCARY and woukd probably go undefeated🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
The most amazing offense most devastating ending to the season. It wasn't even close it was Madd it so bad, sad loss, I'm just happy Peyton manning retired with one more ring in 2015
The Super Bowl loss is on John Fox. He did not prepare this team AT ALL. They were not fired up, he let them attend a press event on a yacht that was making them seasick. Fox was fired; and he and Elway were pretty close. But c'mon; after a season like that it was so embarrassing. But, they won it a couple years later.
Romo is the best QB the Cowboys ever had. Sucks he's never going to get the respect because he didn't win a ring. He carried the team for a decade while we couldn't draft or scout free agents worth a darn. I know this is about the broncos but I had forgotten that Cowboys game and Romo going toe to toe with Manning at his best. I was so mad when we loss I was rooting for Seattle in the SB and then felt bad it went the way it did.
Imagine a mix of this offense (of course with an excellent offensive line) and the deffense that helped them to win the Superbowl 50, against Patrick Mahomes. But Mahomes has the help of the Legion of Boom!!!!
I’m a crazy football fan now and have been for about 6 years now , I go back and watch old highlights old videos etc but around this time I was in 6th grade and didn’t know much about football, can someone explain to me how was the broncos defense this season ? I know 2 years later they had one of the greatest defenses ever , but was it a coaching thing or did they have some big name free agent signings within those years. They had Chris Harris , talib , Von , tj ward even this year so what was the big leap 2 years later ?
@@TheRealKevLarDaDon *Yea sorry but I disagree. He didn’t or couldn’t do the things Big Ben did. The system and scheme was a big part for Brees success in the Record Books. The dome in New Orleans and Coach Sean Payton. Brees did No have the natural ability and game changing playmaking skill that #7 had in Pittsburgh*
@@nathantewkesbury8175 No knock on Ben! First ballot hands down. Ben Roethlisberger was an EXCELLENT QB. Def in the top 15 All-Time! Drew Brees, as was Manning, a legit game changer just cause they were on the field.
I loved watching Peyton. He’s made some of his receivers look above average and after he was gone or they left they looked dookie. He enhanced everyone’s playing ability around him. True leadership
