This works on the 2013 2LS, not sure about the 1LS or other models but it 100% works on the 2LS bc I just did mine and I’ve had no issues since, it’s just like new again.
jr Salazar you’re welcome! Mine was making loud popping noises and loud static, randomly..and sometimes wouldn’t work at all. It would spit out my cd as soon as I would cut the car on. It had also started affecting my climate controls, but it’s been so long I can’t remember exactly how, I just know it was driving me crazy and I had nothing to lose so I tried it, lol..and I’m glad I did bc it saved me a ton of money. The only issue I think it may have caused, and I’m not positive, I just know I never noticed it before I cut the wire..now when I turn on my rear defrost the radio doesn’t work, it just static’s. The CD player and USB still play fine with the rear defrost on, it’s just the radio that static’s.
I just did it to mine 2013 Camaro and it worked. I have been having problems with the dash lights blinking around the radio and recently it was popping. If it was on CD then it would come up with an error message. Playing radio after the pop the radio wouldn't play. AUX would play but at a lower volume mainly because I have installed the Kicker VSS system
I figured it out my ppl. Go to a junk yard or buy another receiver of ebay (the gray big box) you might need to get it program to your old face plate but sometimes the old receiver burns that out too. But I took it to a Chevy dealer to program it for my old face plate. Receiver =105 programing =89.95.
Hey Cory.. what exactly do I say when I call my dealer ? Mine is a legit Chevy dealer not a mom and pop. They wanted to charge me 180 just to diagnose, but if I "TELL" them what the issue is..or that I am requesting a reprogram they will do it????
everyone with a camaro radio problem check the drain hoses that run inside the top of the trunk. They come off and leak. They made my radio mess up somehow im almost positive thats what it is because it only happened when it was raining and now that ive fixed it there doesn't seem to be a problem at all. Try it before you start soldering shit
I don't know why this worked but I'd love someone to explain why it did. So far so good. I did notice something different when I put the key in. But that's it. Thanks $1100 at the dealer saved.
I just removed the wire from the harness and it worked!!! I didnt cut it because I'm not sure what it does but it doesnt matter since everything is working now
How do you reinstall without breaking the two black "nail' shaped prongs coming out from the dash below the top clips about 4 inches.. it seems to me as though the bottom has to go in first due to the lack of clearance and those prongs don't really accomodate that?? never seen such a horrible design in all the cars I've changed radio's since the 90's
Did not work on our 2013. It was already previously cut and pinched back together. Radio still flashes. AC still works, no other issues with the wire cut. Flashers, locks, all. So, next step, purchasing a new radio base. Looking at prices.
Omg mine is doing the exact same thing right now plz tell me this works I have the same car a Camaro 2013 same radio doing the same thing shutting on and off
I have no sound coming from my radio. This guy obviously does, because his door dinger is making noise in the background. I am replacing with touch screen after market radio. Was told it could also be the amp being bad in the trunk. Will replace radio, then amp if need be. Touch screen with Android Auto or Apple Carplay is the way to go. Get rid of this outdated Chevy radio that has to be flashed at a dealer anyway, if replacing with a refurbished stock radio. They don't make new stock radios for this car.
@@martinsierra366.....exactly like its happening to me, i cut the wire last sunday but didnt do shit...Im really piss at GM, fucking garbage is what they build, Im going back to japanese cars, never have ro deal with this bullshit!!
Just tried this today on my 2014 Camaro (base model v6) and cutting the 18th wire (the last white one on bottom row ) didnt fix it. Luckily I didnt seem to "break" anything with this procedure either .. and now I know how to disassemble a radio wahoo. My ac and fan still work regardless but radio will still come and go as it pleases as it did before with the occasional "CD Error" I did however speak to a guy at my local repair shop and he said he has a Camaro that had same issue. Apparently there is a service "bulletin" on this online and he said the dealer fixed it for free for him Tips for the next person trying this: Maybe you will have more luck than I did. You can find cheap nylon pry tools at Harbor Freight . I got a set of 4 for $8 . And the socket size for the 2 screws under the panel is 9/32. Took about 30 mins
THIS DID NOT WORK FOR ME, snipped the right wire and now my radio isn’t even on at all or turns on but is stuck on a Channel with no sound, TAKE IT TO A GEEK SQUAD OR SUM
