This was tough. I wish I had bought a shorter version of the pivoting spark plug socket wrench. I may get one half this size for the plugs in the back if I do this again.

I own a 2012 Ram 5.7 Laramie Crewcab and I hooked up a Diablo Trinity tuner and among other things it allowed me to remove the MDS or staged idling as I like to call it,when you fire it up or drive it you have full 8 cylinders pumping right from the moment you hit the peddle,some difference I'll say it here and clealy noticeable.

Very helpful I'll be tackling this in a day or two. Ram recommends these done at 32k miles which I had done the first time around about 70k miles ago for way more than I'll be charging myself so..lol

The first time doing this took about 4 hours. Mainly because I had never done it on this truck before. I feel confident that if I had to do it again it would be much faster. Probably an hour or so. The ones in the back are the trickiest. Had to use a combination of deep sockets with attachments on and off to wiggle the plugs in and out.

Awesome video I’m actually going to do mine soon have 92k on my 2014 ram. I bought the plugs just figuring out a day to do them since it will be my first time. How many miles where on your truck when you did yours forgot if You mentioned it

I think it was about 75000 miles. I also figured out after the plug change that I had a coil pack go bad. A code reader helped me figure that out. Plugs in under steering column near hood release. It took me a longer time because I wanted to record it, and removing the external things was new to me but I still had it done in around 3 hours I think.
