Thank you so much for explaining the fix. I have replaced my battery 3 times, until one night I noticed the dash lights was on randomly. Once i notice the dash lights on I noticed it wasnt in park. I went to my for fusion to see if the park indicator turns orange when in park and sure enough it was lit. I went back to my F150 but was unable to figure out what the problem was until seeing a discussion on the ford forum, but they didnt explain how to fix it. Thanks again for the info. Also you have an awesome looking truck.
I couldn't find any videos on this issue or the exact part it was. Just ordered a new shifter assembly. Hoping that fixes the issue. Found this video two days too late. Thanks for the video man!
I have the same problem. Instead of dealing with the fuses I just pull the negative battery terminal. About to fix this today. Got the part on eBay for $14(2-3 days) Thanks for the video!

I think this is what’s going on with mine. I was about to switch the alternator and battery reads healthy but is dead in the morning and realized the P was not illuminated when I park.
2013 Ford F-150 EcoBoost with 225k miles on the odometer isn't starting. The parking light on dash in not illuminated when turning the key onto the on position. No gear lights are illuminated at all. I’m thinking the problem is the neutral safety switch underneath the truck that’s attached onto the transmission. Or the park brake switch in this video. The dash lights come on, but there's no cranking, just a click when attempting to start. The starter is functional as it spins when power is applied directly but engine not turning over. All fuses and relays have been checked. The low oil pressure sensor was replaced a month ago without subsequent issues. There's also a clicking sound from the engine area when the truck is off and the hood is up. Coming from one of the victim solenoids. When the pcm relay is removed the sound disappears. What could be the problem? Starting systems fault, engine overheat and low oil pressure lights on dash.
So I have something different but similar. The truck is mechanically in Drive. But the shifter is locked in Park. So the truck doesn't start because it's in drive and not neutral, but I can't move the shifter out of park because the truck won't turn on and disengage the parking lock on the shifter.
I have a similar issue with my dash lights staying on and draining the battery. However my orange light still comes on when I throw it in park. Do you have any idea why that might be?
I do not. When its in park click the button on the shifter a few times. Sometimes that button can be intermittent, but sounds like that switch isn't your problem.
