www.autobytel.c... The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe is a brand new redesign that makes this the 3rd generation automobile. It's hard to believe that the Santa Fe came out back in 1998. Back then there were not many crossovers on the market yet. Now that practically every automobile manufacturer has a crossover, Hyundai is playing it smart. They have gotten rid of the Veracruz model and then Hyundai has created a long wheel base and a short wheel base Santa Fe. Prices start at $24,450.
There are 2 different engine options available on the 2013 Santa Fe Sport. The first is a direct injected 2.4 liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 190 horsepower and 181 lb-ft. of torque. The second engine is a 2.0 liter turbocharged and gasoline direct injected motor that makes 264 horsepower and 269 lb-ft. of torque. The standard transmission is a 6-speed automatic. Fuel economy is 31 MPG combined for the turbo and 33 MPG combined for the naturally aspirated engine.
On the inside the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport has a great 8-inch Navigation as an option. The panoramic sunroof is ultra cool and lets rear passengers enjoy the fresh air and sunlight. The Santa Fe Sport comes standard with many great features like cruise control, power windows and locks, Bluetooth, and steering wheel mounted audio controls to name a few. Safety wise the Santa Fe comes with 7 airbags, stability control, traction control, and anti-lock brakes. These items are all standard on the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport.
Many improvements have been made and maybe the most important is the reduction in weight. The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe weighs 266 lbs. less than the previous model. That weight reduction has a positive effect on fuel economy. The Santa Fe Sport can carry up to 5 people. The rear seat is a 40/20/40 split bench making for a versatile crossover SUV. You can order the Santa Fe in either FWD or AWD configurations.
The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport is priced right alongside its competition. But with the Santa Fe you get more standard features for your money along with a great 10 year 100k mile warranty.

This is by far the best option in the segment. It looks almost premium and doesn't get a blush parked next to an X3. In Europe, where LWB isn't available, most versions are 7 seaters with a leading class 200hp turbo diesel engine and delicious 6-speed manual stick.

To add to that.. then everyone complains about the pricing. Cars in general are moving up market. Up market means higher prices, but you'll have access to those features you mentioned above. It's crazy. People will complain about anything.

Does anybody know if it comes with a roof rail. Every Santa Fe review doesn't seem to have roof rail. It looks great if it have a roof rail I ll be at the dealership tomorrow

I have to say, in my opinion this is one of the best looking crossovers PERIOD! I'd own one of these if I had a family, why? Because it can be both masculine and feminine in it's design. Great fuel economy, design, features, safety and warranty. What's the catch?

Agreed, engines are reliable. My only knock against Hyundai would be that they OVERstate the HP numbers on their engines. When tested, hyundais continuously underperform and fail to meet their "internal testing" numbers.

Customers Sue Hyundai Over Leaks in Santa Fe SUV Consumers have filed a class-action lawsuit against Hyundai Motor for leaks in the New Santa Fe SUV. Led by a Santa Fe driver identified as Lee (33), customers filed their suit at the Seoul Central District Court on Oct. 17 demanding that their vehicles be replaced with new ones. The New Santa Fe was unveiled in April last year and now tops SUV sales in Korea. This year alone, 60,000 were sold. But Hyundai has received a growing number of complaints about rain water leaking through the roof or the trunk since the monsoon started. In August, Hyundai apologized and promised to fix the leaks for free and extended the warranty for five years. But many of the customers who filed the complaints felt the carmaker should recall their cars or provide some sort of compensation. There were also concerns that repaired SUVs would fetch lower prices on the used car market. Lee, who led the class-action suit, said, "The vehicle has a structural flaw so a partial repair is not enough." The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority are looking into the problem.

it doesn't look like Toyota, or Honda or Nissan. What about Subaru Tribeca? From a distance you won't be able to distinguish, try it yaself. Even the grill is same as of Tribeca. I don't know why have they not been sued by Subaru for stealing their design............

lol - i think it's funny that so many people complain about cars not having a power liftgate option. are we seriously getting too lazy to take a few seconds to open up the trunk now? it seems that the more conveniences we get, the more we want. people seemed much happier back when cars were just cars. adding all these convenience features only ignited our lust for more of them. keyless entry, push button start, one-touch everything...all tailored for lazy-ass people. lol. but..NICE HYUNDAI!!

Not at all FVGOTCH I have a Kia and I have had nuthing but issues with it. They kept saying there's no proble at all wee can't find any. So I took it to a Kia specialist not par of the company with in an hour they found a lot of issues and are replacing a few parts.

Meh...CRV is a much better car overall, especially in terms of driving dynamics. Mazda CX-5 is also a much better car than this, and so is the Nissan Juke.
