Did you ever figure out what was going on with your truck? I have a 2012 6.7 that has a fresh full engine rebuild for the second time haven’t even put one mile on it. Started fine, and idled good for the first few times I started it and today it started knocking loud as heck and running rough, did the test you did but got nothing!
Well there are a lot of possible causes as to why yours is knocking. Did you do the rebuild yourself? If you had it done at a shop, then they should offer some sort of warranty for the build. Are all of the injectors new? Or are they the ones previously used? You could have more than one injector going out as well.
Would the engine knock when u first start it on a cold start then get louder as it warms up? I suspect my injector is bad and mine sounds exactly like yours did. I did an injector kill test and when killed the injector the nlise significantly went away
Final diagnosis was the number six injector against the firewall. I change the injector out and the feeder tube. Truck ran great after that. But I also pulled the other injectors out and cleaned all of the nozzles.
@shugbe5477 thank you for the replies after all these years, your videos helped me troubleshoot my 2014. Has same issues like yours, engine even sounds the same and hearing the confirmation about the noise when I warms up solidifies it. Thank man!
@@EVERYTHANGDIESEL hey man no problem at all. Thats why i put them out there. I also wanted to let you know that once i found out which one it was, i went ahead and ordered a replacement, but also purchased the feeder tube as well. I do strongly suggest that you do the same (in case you aren’t familiar with the process)
