Underrated! There is no other word that best describes the pocket rocket that is the Suzuki Swift Sport. Not only is it ultra-light on it’s feat in the bends, but it’s quick off the line as well. Check out the video to see just how quick.

Considering the power/weight I always thought a quoted 8.6 second 0-100km/h time wasn't right. Thanx for proving it

@@roadswaysouth shame they didnt pick up too many sales its an amazing car......not helped by suzuki underqouting 0-60 times either. An Audi A1 1.4 Tfsi has 140hp with 1200kg of weight and they claim 7.9 seconds... Yea its got more torque but theres no way in hell its a second quicker to 60 with 150kg more lard.

Yeah I agree. It's a bit unrelated, but I love how everyone is just praising this car left and right. It goes to show that a car doesn't have to have all the gadgets and performance figures to be loved. Thanks for the comment 😎

I have this car in white since new, year 2013, so six year of ownership. Absolutely love it!

I just bought one (2014 model), I have sooooo much fun driving it. I now understand why its owners love them so much. My other car ( GTI Swift ) may be quicker in a straight line but this thing turns like a go Kart.

You'd need to hit 100 km/h in second gear, don't change to 3rd before hitting 100. The car barely gets past 100 km/h in 2nd but it can do it. The engine is more powerful than factory claim, if it had dsg it would do 0-100 in 7.1 seconds consistently.

There's a traction control button to the bottom right of the steering wheel (if it's right hand drive) that you hold for 5 - 10 seconds that should do the trick

I would like to know how did you hit 7.3 instead of 8,6 seconds? How did you fixed the wheel spin issue?

@@roadswaysouth Im about to buy suzuki swift sport 1.6 (2017) got any advice? i might have idea to make the shifter shorter like honda type r length. Or right between 6800/6850 rpm, to the next one? by looking at the most videos and driving ones. the rpm is the same 6900 limited maybe you set the rpm limiter to 7000? I doubt it is 130bhp because the 2th gear is every stuck one reaching the max of 100 km/h and you got it at 110 km/h Love getting any info you got thanks!

In mechanical terms, my mate left it as is, so I can't really give any advice there. However, it's a car that nearly every car enthusiast loves and it always drew attention. My friend has since moved on to a BMW 135i yet he still misses the Swift dearly. It's a great car

@@roadswaysouth Thanks man i will find my way! i'm sure he will miss the swift soon as he gets the BMW 135i maintenance costs 😅 i was thinking of installing a turbo with ofcourse new cooler ecta.... but the clutch is not all that strong i heard so i might think of only chip tuning to Stage 1, 135 -> 151bhp. by professionals of course, but is it wise ?

I think a tune would be fine, but always make sure they give you a proper warranty incase something goes wrong. A nice exhaust will also give the car some extra character 👌

Now imagine this... you change the ratios on the gearbox, better suspension, better clutch, lightweight flywheel, weight reduction, good tyres and rims, for sure would be below 6 secs. ;) and maybe even change the cams :D

@@roadswaysouth And thats all sort of legal, at least over here, if you put a turbo or a supercharger then you would have to homologate and so and that can cost a lot... Plus the reliablity of a NA is fantastic :D

not really because with shorter gear ratio you need 1 extra gear change to reach 100kmh

I think you had to measure it at 110kph, i had an app on my phone showing 100kp/h gps was only with the speedo at 110kp/h

I hear what you're saying and see your point, but in all fairness, this is how most people test the 0-100. So to compete with those times and keep it consistent we'll probably continue doing it like this. Thanks for the comment 🙏

The speedometer does not work 100% correct. u hav to go into 3. to get to 100 km/h without changes to the ECU.

I wonder what the speedo error is on this vehicle. I suspect it might read a bit high. Also the camera angle means the time is being ended early. Can tell because the shadow line lags behind. That said, even if it's not an 7 second car it still looks faster than the high 8's quoted. Probably low 8's. I'm impressed. That's about the same as the fastest time I could manage in a B16 Del Sol

To give some perspective, the Swift matched a my Mondeo ST to 100 (a 7 second car). It's quick cuz it's light. Also the video was shot in the afternoon, hence the low shadow. I worked frame by frame to make sure it's accurate

@@roadswaysouth i believe you've timed accurately to 100 but most speedometers are inaccurate - Sometimes as high as 5 - 10%. Just that 1.5 seconds faster than advertised seems very unlikely. That's about the same time you would expect an old EG Civic to post - and they weight the same but have 30hp more.
