Today we have a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu with the 2.5 engine. It has a check engine light with code P16CF and P16D0. We weren't able to active test the solenoids to check them, so we improvised by checking the resistance across each solenoid. We weren't sure what the resistance was supposed to be, but assumed that they should at least be equal to each other. We found that one side was indeed excessive so we replaced the solenoid. This procedure should be the same on 2014 Malibu and 2015 Malibu as well as 2014 Impala, 2015 Impala, 2016 Impala, 2017 Impala, 2018 Impala, and 2019 Impala.
