It seems that every time I look up a car that I just recently started liking and wanted to do some research on, TFL Car is always helping me out. Because I literally looked up the Buick Regal about 5 minutes ago and now I see this. Thank you! I love y'all's reviews! You guys like what I like and that helps me research cars.
I bought a brand new LaCrosse fwd with a V6 but almost bought a Regal GS and I'm glad I bought the LaCrosse, it has way more room and is way more comfortable to drive. Seems like the interior build quality is better and it's much more quiet also when driving on the highway. Well worth the small amount extra I paid for a loaded one. I was iffy about buying a Buick but being the most non bias person you will ever meet I bought it anyways and I like it better then my mothers CTS and my buddies Merc. The only thing I don't like about it is the intillilink software. They should have stayed away from a flash based system and my god why does it always play the first song on my iPhone song list when I plug the damn thing in.. Anyway overall I would purchase another Buick after this, it has changed my mind and I've only owned it for 2 months.
I had a Honda Accord that went through three transmissions in just five years. I've gone back to domestic cars. To answer an age old question, Yes I really would rather have a Buick!
In the end, Japanese transmissions are more reliable than American made transmissions. I do find it disturbing that you went through that many transmissions in such a small period of time. 🤔 wow!
@@ShawnGattis Honda had a bad generation of Accord based vehicles that effected the Accords, Pilots, TL, CL, and MDX models. Unfortunately they treated their Acura customers much better than their Honda customers when problems arose.
@@teebaby9884 It was a nightmare for me. I hadn’t had such a bad experience since I started buying new cars after college. I haven’t bought a Honda since. Not even their lawnmower.
America always gets the lower tune version of EVERYTHING! Especially when it comes to Japanese cars. Come on USA, let the horses run fast and free !!!!! Nothing like good ol' American muscle cars!
Roman and Nathan, when is Diamond in the Rough returning?.Really like your reviews and specialty pieces.I see cars on Forza Friday and enjoy every video.
@Gary Creely the Lacrosse is a huge boat of a sedan and the Regal is supposed to be Buick's smaller sedan with the top sports package. I'd expect a much larger gap.
those are good times....and both very nice looking cars...they look great on the road, nothing like the old 1990's Lesabre and century....LOL I will look at Buick seriously when I get a new family ride next year.
The Verano is 6.3 inches shorter, 300lbs lighter, depending on options about 6k cheaper. The Regal gets a more powerful optional engine, has optional All wheel drive. And a few more options in general.
Excellent car! I want one.... since Buick Grand Nationals are insanely priced. But it goes to show how far Buick has come, and how Buicks from 1987 are not only still on the road, but hold their value. 👍👍👍 Im a fan!
This car is very designed, I like this kind of car very much. I bought a Buick Yinglang 1.3t from China, 0-62mph accelerated to 8 seconds, quite satisfied with all aspects. This is the first car in my life. I love it. 😍😄
I had a modded 98 GTP that ran in the 13's before I got my GS. Loved that whine! I believe I am running 22psi through the entire rpm band. I know trifecta tune's the pcm to get into boost early and keep it there. I unfortunately do not have a boost gauge, but the tune is all that's been modified. What we saw in the video was the exact problem that every GS owner has complained about, weak power off the line. It's a complete whimp off the line and the tune ELIMINATES that completely.
I did a 0-60 in my GS in the same fashion - right off of idle. It had 3 quarters of a tank of fuel, and only 3K miles on it (I've noticed that GM engines open up power wise and fuel mileage wise at 5K) In any event, it's quite a bit quicker than yours. It can be seen here: /watch?v=TyIKU7_Z1Rg
Next time do Buick LaCrosse vs. Toyota Avalon and Regal vs Toyota Camry. Since Pontiac is gone, Buick really does need a 2 door GNX rear wheel drive sport car. Don't just talk about it Buick, JUST DO IT!!!!
It's alsmost US vs Europe inside GM. The LaCrosse was made for USA, the Regal is an Opel made for Europe then transform to become a Buick. They both are two diffenrent thinking. Interresting! RWD vs FWD (or AWD), Big V6 vs 4 in line Turbo...
I don't think he overcame the turbo lag on the GS when he took off; he just stomped on it and let the turbo spool up while accelerating which would cause significant turbo lag. It should do around 7 seconds.
well i just purchased a 2007 lucerne used--gold mist color with leather and all options. i must say i really like the way it rides--the way it handles--and yes even the acceleration is good--for a heavy family car--i get about 25 mpg on freeway--about 20 in town, the worst thing gmc has ever did is stop making the 3.8/3800--very reliable engine--very few issues--and can get 200k with out too much trouble...... Wanted the regal turbo--BUT technician friend says no you dont! the ecoboost has some issues. so i got the regular v6 lucerne. NO regrets love my old buurrick!!!! LOL
So now we all know that a turbo 4 can replace the V6 in the Regal and Malibu! I still wish there was a little more factory tuning to boost the 2.0T up to 270HP and 305FT-LBS. . . Also Roman when are you getting your hands a 2014 Malibu??
I bought a 2015 LaCrosse and it is really just the same as a caddy XT6 but without the price. With a 2:77 final drive ratio you are not going to break any time records. That's why I also have a Camaro SS.
Because the honda accord is a midsize sedan. Both these sedans are bigger and heavier. The regal is 120ish lbs heavier and the lacrosse is nearly 500 lbs heavier.
being honest, i have a 2011 lacrosse ,cxl awd loaded , and its pretty fast, fast enough for me, but what is the weight difference between the two vehicles.??
This is Europe vs US philosophy Cars inside the same brand. The Regal is an Opel (and Vauxhall) Insignia. FWD vs RWD sedans. Since 10 years now GM develops car for Europe and then integrate some of them in his Market under a US name. Sadly this is made possible by the loss of Identity of most of GM Brands (except Cadillac and Chevrolet). The Sad thing for us is that Buick is what Opel should be in Europe.
Is it just my eyes or did your head and ceiling appear very close together, close as in if your hair was any longer you would not fit in the car? Respectable performance for cars which are bought for respectability rather than cojones.
Hardly grand pappy's Buick lol. Those were about a decade ago. I'm not sure people 60+ years old are looking at Buick anymore. They're too much for them (not in terms of prices, but in terms of style, technology, and complexity). I buy Buick now, and I'm in my 30's. My aunt, who is 69 and has been buying Buicks for over 40 years refuses to buy them anymore because they, in her words "look too much like a car a kid would drive." and "all of these buttons and technology...I don't want it."
I watched your other videos and I am surprised that buick regal gs in America is very good, compared to other sports cars. and here is a very new and the engine has not been run with a full tank, auto and manual. when the engine is in the drive and use the manual and 4wd what would happen though
7.78 Lacrosse is not very quick for that new of a car. My 2002 Buick Regal LSE naturally aspirated 3800 did that, and my 04 Regal GS supercharged was faster than the 2014 regal gs that's sad.
