2014 Chevrolet Equinox LT mode door actuator replacement 

In this economy, my favorite mechanic (Non-Dealer) was going to charge me 487$ just for the labor. I had the part so I decided to search the net and see how its done. I have a GMC terrain 2015 was very similar to this one. Let me tell ya, even being as small as I am, I had to contort and be upside own a good portion of it, but I definitely was able to get it done. Just a lot of scrapes and sore muscles.

@@MyOddThoughts …Thank you!!…my mechanic told me the dash would have to be removed. I think it was his way of getting out of doing it…he told me to get rid of the car…unbelievable

@@gospos1 oh what the?! I hope really you didn't based on that assessment! Literally, the biggest issue was having to do some yoga and having the right tools, that's honestly it and some patience! Wow!

Awesome, i might be making another one soon for the temperature actuator. Mines knocking now and it’s very annoying 😂😂😂

I had to go to harbor freight and buy a swiveling ratchet

@@mistardoyle3042 What took me forever to realize is that after you take the two screws holding the communications/radio box out you can pull the whole damn thing down and disconnect the connectors. This gives you plenty of room to reach that back screw.

@@samuelfeguer oh yes I forgot about that I took mine out as well and forgot to put one of the screws back in but I’m not going back in there lmao

For modern vehicles, those swivel ratchet wrenches are no longer a luxury. They are essential.

His video was actually more helpful than the ones made by mechanics and those with more experience. Yes, personal commentary was a bit heavy, but he gave some insight, maybe not verbally, but what he filmed was enormously helpful. I expect, since you had such a helpful tip about filming, I hope to see one on this subject and see how easy it is to film and instruct. Not everyone is Rainman Ray's on Y.T.

Well it took me about 4 or 5 hours to remove and reinstall everything

Also having a ratchet wrench that doesn't require an adapter to use the smaller sockets will help cut down on some time.

It took me about an hour and 45 mins

I had to get a swiveling compact ratchet from harbor freight and made my life so much easier

@@mistardoyle3042 did you use a stubby flex head ratchet? How did you get the top bolt from the bracket off?
