2014 Chevy Sonic Review - Kelley Blue Book 

The Chevy Sonic LT 1.4 with turbo is a good daily driver. Took it on a trip to Oregon it handled very well. It was comfortable too. Had 37.5 mpg going up. And 43.7mpg coming back.. Very impressed.

Can we all take a moment to appreciate the review model with his chapstik in the trunk? I completely busted out laughing at that.

The RS Sonic is the sportiest trim model. But you can actually still get the turbo in an LT model. So its RS power at a cheaper price.

my '13 sonic is pretty sweet. 1.8 with 5spd. really bought it for reliability and was only 7k with 33k miles, certified with 100k warranty from dealer. really can't beat the price of used cars these days, at these price points i should never have to own a car thats more than 5 years old again. win win imo

I bought a 2014 Chevy Sonic from Hertz Rental Car Sales on 2/19/2016, w/44K miles. Since than I've had nothing but A/C problems, Airbag and Engine light problems. And spent too much $ to have it fixed. and its still not fixed!!! My mechanic gave me an estimation of $1482 to fix the Evaporator Core. I'm looking to get rid of this car. I have 68K miles. Any idea what its worth?

Probably the best car in the segment in my opinion, I'd skip the RS package though.

ya its an economy car and some of the pieces (especially inside) show it. I luv mine. I was looking at the cruze but this thing has all I need and its 700 lb lighter than the Cruze diesel. Really cant see why I would want to haul around 3 linebackers worth of extra heft even if I would be getting the same fuel economy. Best feature is the very responsive performance and handling, luv the turbo esp. at higher altitudes. Worst thing on it is the freakin Sat Radio--just trying to turn it on & off if is a Royal Pain, stik with the standard setup there. Some of the int. plastics are too easily scratched up and i'm not so thrilled with the leatherette on the seats, gimme the cloth.

here in my country the base Honda Fit is priced the same as the LTZ sedan sonic. :< i'm looking for a manual transmission but the fit doesnt have it in higher variants. what should i choose? which is better?

I have a 2013 Sonic hatch 1.4 turbo/automatic I bought used from my sister. It is a nice little transportation car, but nothing special. At least mine came with the 15" wheels instead of those 17" GHETTO REEHUUMS

It doesn't have the temperature gauge on the desk board

Sonic RS uses Regular 87 octane and Fiesta ST uses Premium 91-93 Octane only I love how everyone is bringing the Si in this group it isn't even in this class people. Maybe bring the Fit or Kia Rio into play here instead. But everyone has an opinion I would just buy a car I feel more comfortable paying for and driving all the time. I keep my cars for a while so I look for more durability and longevity so, then performance.

It looks good in Sedan, but the rear lamp are the only detail of the sedan version that I dont like.

I wasn't trying to start wars. I was just saying that it's hard to believe a company would sell something like that. And just because imports are made in america doesn't mean they are 100% american. They still use Japanese parts.

The ST engine isn't that great. I'm disappointed that Chevy didn't up the horsepower in the Sonic RS, but the Fiesta ST engine is just inefficient. 200 HP in a car as small as the Fiesta should not give you an acceleration as slow as 6.7 seconds, when a Honda Civic Si, a car that has nearly the same horsepower and weighs more, goes faster. It's Ford's sloppy Ecoboost system...

The Sonic is "ASSEMBLED" in Mich, much like MK 3 Ford Focus! Sonic has HARD PLASTIC everywhere including the dash. Also, NO armrest for passanger, maybe the "electrified" replacement will have one as an option.

for 21k you my as will spend that money on a better car. the small compact cars like the ford feasta and sonic are for those looking to save money because that size of a car you are sacrificing safety. ether way as in owner of a ford focus (base) back then they were 14k i am thinking of moving into a sonic base model. simple and straight to the point. i dont need all those high end stuff i just want the car for its fuel at this point.

Handles better, is more reliable, and a better company overall. They make Jet planes, boat motors, motorcycles, Acuras, and lawnmowers.

You got that wrong, the Sonic hatch is more expensive than the sedan. Same with the Ford Fiesta.

The interior and ride of the ST line is still significantly better than the Civic Si. Yes, my family owns an Si. Yes, I have driven the Si and the STs.

Everyone knows Mitsubishi motors is a dying brand in the US. Is Honda getting more boring? Maybe. But the best selling vehicle is F150, hardly an exciting car.
