In this video - we revive the SS that has been sitting for far too long. We run into a dead/dying battery - and then we run into an issue with the TPMS system.

TPMS sensor batteries last around 6 to 8 years. If two of them failed, it's likely that the other two will fail sometime in the near future. That's one reason I like to use my Autel TS601 TPMS tool because it will display the battery info (if provided by the sensor) so I can check on the battery charge level in the sensors. The Caprice PPV that I recently purchased has sensors reporting a battery level of "OK" so far, but I'll be buying new wheels/sensor/tires for that car soon. I like watching your videos!

Its probably been 6+ years since I got the V wheels. I had them on my G8. So when they died - not totally shocked.

Kinda strange the batteries would all go at the same time, I have that identical programming tool. If you hold the button in I noticed it might not find the tire sensor. You just need to tap the button and let go and it should work more consistently. Stupid design flaw and make sure the 9v battery is fresh.

Discount Tire/Dorman tire sensors are shit. 3/4 went back on my new truck in under a month.

So how would you get into the trunk with a dead battery. I have a 2015 and that is somthing that could happen eventually. Mine does that with my tires also. Sometimes it just takes a little time to read accurate with the tire pressure

Open the back seat compartment and there's a handle on the passenger side to manually open it.

What Rob said - if it's fully dead use the flip key to open the door lock too.
