2014 GED vs.HiSET vs. TASC Which Is Easier? 

Please keep in mind that many students taken these exams are not just "drop outs" as you put it. Now many are homeachool graduates. I hate that this is labeled as a test for only drop outs. It's an unfair stigma.

If I'm not mistaken it's$25 dollars per subject on hiset in TX and TX wants to get rid of it by August 31st 2021, which sucks.

I failed algebra 1 in all 4 years of high school. It's the only class I didn't have a C or better in. So if math is only getting harder.. I guess I'm fucked when it comes to getting an education. Goodbye life.. Thanks useless math. I forgot, I need intense algebra to be a cop.

Yes. The old GED test wasn't enough to prepare us for college. But I have been struggling having dropped out of school to take care of my sick mother. I have been failing the math portion of the test for a year now. It really needs to be challenging but not to the point we fail over and over again. Where people like me can't afford tutoring or resources to help us pass. I would much rather take pre requisites than be stuck in this never ending nightmare I am in. I feel much farther away! I aced every other subject right away! But I keep failing the math. I definitely don't want the test to be "dumbed down" as many would say. They need to pay attention to the fact that we clearly haven't been in school due to reasons that may have impacted our lives. I was unable to attend school regularly. I had to get a job very young and leave education behind me. I just honestly think it is slightly unfair. Especially when many test takers can't afford retakes and practice tests, as well as the other resources they offer us that cost money. I read an article about how Ivy League grads can't pass the math of the Pearson 2014 GED. So how is a high school drop out supposed to, especially being in the lower-middle class.

I am from Trinidad, our high school exam math is very hard. I don't have a complete high school diploma and it is important to get one, did study couple subjects because of not having the time for full schooling which is the issue for most people. Being the owner of a small business it consumes my time and keeps me busy but I will like to take the GED so that I can pursue what I like. As I notice most online courses need GED or equivalent. Already I have started on GEDmathlesson and as for the test at state testing center, my husband lives in Oregon, often i make trips to the US. I must say when it comes to math, anyone can teach but not everyone is a teacher, you do a great job in the way you explain and deliver.

Hello Back When I took the GED IN 2012 I only payed $50. Now in 2015 I had to retake a equivalency Test called the HISET which cost Now $90 to take all 5 subjects.

There needs to be some awareness spreaded across the state of Georgia about the Hi-set and TASC test, because this new 2014 GED test is expensive and more rigorous. I'm currently an adult literacy student and I have to start all over with this 2014 GED test, because I passed everything, but I didn't score enough to earn the diploma on the 2002 series test. I scored a 2170. I contacted the board of education in the state of Georgia, but I don't know if they recognize these two secondary highschool equivalency test other the GED test. The state of GA needs to to know about these secondary test, so there will be many more options to earning a highschool equivalency test and the cost is less to the new common core 2014 GED test that cost $160 per test.

In Pennsylvania as of 2020, the HiSet is made up of 5 different tests you can take in person or online, but either way it has to be proctored (at home via video?). You can take the tests on different dates as long as it's all within one year of registering. It's like $19 bucks per test.

Inception of GED was for young GI's that went off to war and came home without HS credentials....Not dropouts

Any insight about the maximum scoring for each subject on the TASC?

hiset is computer and paper based at least in Tennesse, and u are obligated to take and pass a practice test be4 taking the actual hiset test. which is really annnyoing

The G.E.D 2014 in California is $35 per test with a total of 4 test, i'm currently taking it now and so far have passed 3. I am now working on the math and it's hard as hell.

which one is harder GED, HISET, OR TASC, My question is why not combine them all under TASC, and include ACT, and make everyone take combined SAT with some LSAT logic, and critical studies exam?

Also! While US may be behind on exams that other countries do well in.. We are WAY ahead in ingenuity and creativity. I would rather have an inventive child than a robot.

Its funny how he says the exams is expensive $120 or $52 and yet the student wanting to take the exam has a pair of $500 sneakers often. I see the need for these exams and am very interested in teaching the subject matter and not just the tests themselves? I really would like if not able to teach but tutor others while assisting the teacher/Instructor what do you recommend is there a certification or certifications for that i.e. nationally recognized? Also is there something related to STEM PROGRAMS AS WELL WRITING WITH PROFESSIONAL PURPOSE NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED CERTS I'M VERY MUCH INTERESTED. THANK YOU. They should in my humble opinion combine both (HISET&TASC) JUST like they should combine (ACT&SAT&PARTS OF LSAT) it seems almost necessary not only in the heightened levels of technology but as already understood the big coming changes in the economy and work life integration with technology. Its like you gonna have your days off from work but your never off duty. Also Public Schools arent really pushing the STEM Or Professional Writing & Composition thing either somethis is got to get done..
