This a video showing my struggles on trying to install a used ECU on a Nissan. Some of the struggles are do to some tooling issues and some from learning the eeprom procedure.
That function used to run without a subscription on my 908. I guess they changed a lot of stuff in recent updates this year. I recently just updated my 908 this year, I really wish I hadn't and left it on 2021 year software. The 608, I'm pretty much forced to always have a sub on that one for the mroe advanced key stuff. No getting around it.
I love how thorough you are with your videos. I always had option 3 but never used it. Which makes me wonder if option 3 required a subscription. I can understand the subscription requirement for the immo option since it pulls the pin from the network.
Autel became a pain to deal with since there latest updates that you have to have a valid subscription. I'm considering getting the 508 because the updates are a lot cheaper then my 608, and I don't use the diagnostic side to often. I prefer using my TopDon that has topology.
Awesome video. Thats cool you getting the kiddos involved! You think there's key IDs written into the eeprom as well? I'm in the middle of the video though lol
It might be possible but would be a lot of work. Id assume you would have to figure out where the coding hex is located for that option and then figure out what hex to change it too. There are quicker ways of doing those types of modifications, I even believe that you might be able to do it with the factory tool by changing the configuration numbers
@@DTEAuto Ah ok thanks for answering! Other option i was thinking of was just making a simulator box for all the inputs the ECM wants to see from the TCM. Most are on/off and resistance values, harder part is the square waves for the input/output shaft speed sensors.
@@thesmartguy3523 well but, has the bmw the option of doing it saving data online and recover later without to read and write the eeprom ? i mean do the swap funtion like the nissan has. sorry if i didnt explain myself good enough.
