Dude, at what point in your post production of this video did you think, “yeah, that sounds great!” And then decide to upload it to the world? I’m just asking. I’m curious.
Great video but I have to agree with the other comments. The camera was way too close to the exhaust to get clear audio of real world sound. I think the exhaust sounds great but the audio quality took away from the effectiveness of the video.
the real culprit - if you want to hear mosquittoes and birds - is the guy with straight pipes. that would be loud. this muffler is street legal. it's not obnoxious. the camera i used for this video doesn't do my new muffler justice. it sounds great. people that don't like 'noisy' vehicles - my guess - are tone deaf, and will say the same thing about rock concerts and low flying airplanes and performance mufflers.
Someone edited the sound by adding to much gain and a bit of reverb and now the audio quality sounds like kaka. should of left the original sound file on !!!
I thought your Video was good. No problem with the Audio going through my laptop's external Bose Speakers. However, I personally would not allow a 5 Clamp attachment on my 'future' Hemi replacement muffler. 10:1 you'll have exhaust leaks within the year. Weld it and be done with it. Hope this Super 44 works well with your Hemi MDS. JP
I would look into getting your muffler welded in place instead of using clamps. I did the clamp thing with my other pick-up and the clamps were rusted off within a couple years from the road salt. I'm in Ontario as well!
Sergei hello again am here asking for advice on a muffler and daily driveability. i had a 2013 with a 50HD and it was some quiter but now am in a 2017 big horn crew cab 8speed i want the flowmaster sound but not the drone in the cab while on the highway..... do you can i can get the best performance and sound out of a supper 44 or something else
yeah, i found too that 50HD was a little bit too quiet. Super 44 or Super 40 would sound better. There shouldn't be any drone because these mufflers are still pretty big.
That's a BIG sound....and that folks, is why you don't rent an apartment next to a busy road. Either it's the fat guy on the Harley Davidson or Uncle Sergei's Ram....somebody will wake you at 4AM with their souped up exhaust system.
Thx for the vid! And the time you put into sound clips/and on road sound. The mic on the camera sucks a bit! I'll be putting on 40series or super 44 not sure. I've already done the 10 need to calm it down a bit on my daily driver.
translation: "If you want to learn how NOT to use a knife, watch this video ...". glad this dude found my video entertaining. watch it again -- maybe you'll find more faults! I need all the views I can get! Gracias profesor.
On my 2013 Ram i had the muffler removed and put in a straight pipe with a Y pipe to the stock duals. I get about 3 more miles per gallon and it sounds sweet.
That's a nice sound except for the buzzing and resonance in the cab. Probably just the camera mount vibrating or my PC speakers complaining. A nice sound however.
Back in 72 I had a 12V71 Detroit that had dual straight pipes and no mufflers when I was hauling grain. I haven't been able to hear since. That truck could be heard miles away. It was a grain hauler tractor set up. I made a headache rack like a friend made. Base was a homemade muffler. 8" square tube with homemade baffles in a 3 pass stages. Baffled had ¼" holes. About 200 of them. Worked great till it rusted out.
Hey Dratchev...Whats the name and model # of your Tonneau cover and what you paid for it. It looks heavy duty. Does it leak in your truck bed and are you pleased and satisfied with it.
I like top fuel drafters so I get it.But sometimes you can take a fun car or truck and bolt on something that takes some of the fun out of it. If you can afford all of this why not put in high quality electric exhaust cut outs that dump into a set of noise makers and leave the quiet exhaust in also? I don't the the weight will effect your E.T. times to Walmart.
You're right, your camera mic never picked up how great that muffler sounds. I know because I had one on my old Silverado and loved it. I used the 360* S.S. band clamps when I put mine on, that's the way to go if you're not going to weld it ... they seal really good and don't smash the muffler outlets like the U-bolt kind you used. Held up great for 4.5 years til I sold the truck. Nothing sounds like Flowmaster, I'd have one on my Harley if they made them for bikes.
I'm really concerned! 1) Make sure you check their age / I.D before they jump in. 2) Once they start twerking in the bed they might try to do it on the hood. 3) You'll need to drive like hell away from the farm girls - their daddy's got guns.
Too loud for me..especially on a daily driver. I did test drive a 2012 hemi charger that had flowmasters on it (not sure what series) and it sounded sweet though. Lots of drone, don't think I could deal with it daily.
will this fit my 2016 ram rebel?? i tried the link you provided from amazon and it says it doesn't fit my truck. in fact it also says it doesn't fit yours either.... what gives??
+Nabil Alhadi Try Flowmaster website at www.flowmastermufflers.com. I first bought their American Thunder kit and it FIT my 2014 RAM 1500. In this video I wanted a louder sound so I just replaced the muffler. The kit changes your pipes after the CAT, which has a dramatic effect on sound and performance. The Flowmaster website has a tool called 'SEARCH BY VEHICLE'. I would do that to make sure you're buying a kit that is designed for your vehicle. Once you know the part number you can look for it online or order directly from Flowmaster (if you're in USA or Canada). Good luck. In my opinion Flowmaster is the best performance muffler for a large engine. I now have a 2.5L Mazda and went with Spintech Super Pro Street 9000; it would be way too loud on the Dodge RAM and its 5.7L V8!
Pretty much almost ANY aftermarket muffler will fit a truck. Factory truck mufflers are HUGE!!!! The only ones that wouldn't work are purely because of how they're oriented, not actual size, & those are ones for like 90s camaros/trans-ams where the inlet and outlet are on the same side & also opposite side.
Sergei which of the two mufflers are the quietest ...i have a 2013 Ram 1500 tradesman 5.7L i would like to add the 50 Hd Flowmaster to it, but i dont want it sound loud i cant stand to drive it.....need some advice on which way to go.....muffler upgrade
+Antonio Davis Flowmaster 50HD is quieter than Super 44. Check the Flowmaster website: they provide sound ratings for each muffler. I had both 50HD and Super 44, and speaking from experience you'll be happier with 50 HD, if you want to listen to classical music while driving ;) Me - I'm happier with Super 44 :) None of these cause drone by the way, but Super 44 is definitely louder.
You said you don't want a loud muffler. So, Super 44 is not for you. Out of the two shown in the video, 50 HD remains. You will see moderate power gains with this one, while still enjoying a quiet ride.
first I installed the full American thunder kit from flowmaster. so the pipes were changed after the converter. then I just replaced the muffler itself. I never touched the cat.
+R MacK Just to give old people something to bitch & moan about..Get over it and go watch another video Richard Head! Personally I don't like you...lol
