Thanks for the video I was able to replace my air filter. A 66 yr. old on fixed income, able to save $$$. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.
The manual says you're supposed to unhook this fat hose on the right (unscrew the clamp and disconnect it from the box holding the filter). Then you'll be able to see what you're doing rather than blindly slipping the new filter in. But it's good to see that it's even simpler! LOL. Also, you're supposed to wipe clean that thing, like a pan, that sits over the filter... you could see it somewhat here, a bit further in, in the box).
Thanks for the comment @lanceguilin. I don't do the oil changes on my cars anymore ( though I used to) but the cabin air filters I still do. I'll put up a video for that when it's due for a change.
lanceguilin cost of an oil change is cheap compared to me having to crawl around on the ground, get burned by hot engine parts and deal with oil disposal properly. Synthetic oil costs about 65 bucks for the oil + 10 for the filter. Most places will do the synthetic oil change for around 75$. Cost about the same and I don't have to deal with the other hassles involved.
sethssd I'm taking delivery of a 2016 2.5i Limited Forester either tonight or tomorrow. It's on the truck being delivered to my dealer right now. I'm so excited!
