Ramin Karimloo should have won the Tony for his performance in this revival production of Les Mis. Personally I think he is the better singer-actor than Neil Patrick Harris. See Ramin being interviewed by Katie C.: Les Miz Star Ramin Karimloo Talks Tony Nomination

Ramin Karimloo IS a better singer-actor than NPH, but the latter is more famous and has more friends in the business.

+Kate Johnson I wish he would have one but against NPH as Hedwig he lost a lot of weight to play the role so basically that is why he won.

My question is why wasn't this the cast used in the film? Real singers with real beef in their voices.

Ticket sales. Sadly, this cast would not have made half a billion $$ at the box office.

The only problem that I had with the movie was Russel Crowe; they should've gotten someone else to play Javert

Actually... Samantha Barks (Eponine) had played the role before on stage, in addition to singing the part at the 25th anniversary concert of the show. Hugh Jackman also has had stage experience, winning a Tony for his role in The Boy from Oz. ...though I do see your point.
