2014 Volkswagen Jetta Left Front Door Latch Lock Replacement

For the love of God take his advice with those triple square screws! He is 100% correct that a torx bit will not work! Also a square bit will not work, I know it does sometimes in wood but this is metal.

Ok the black and silver set screw that goes into the key lock mechanism from the side. Where they screw in there is a piece that kepts moving in and out so the black screw will not go in completely. So the door want stay closed at times. Please tell me what i did wrong or did i break something else.

My take-away from following this video: when it comes to getting the actuator out, the best method I have is having constant pressure against the window regulator bar, both back and to the right. You can actually remove the latch cable for the outside door handle while you're in the door, it is very tight but you -can- do it. When removing the actuator, after disconnecting the outside cable, orient the actuator with the big face side toward you, and the lip of the other side so when you're constantly pulling, you have some room to maneuver your hand to help it along toward the back. Also, *WHEN YOU REMOVE THE COVER OF THE OLD ACTUATOR, REPLACE IT IMMEDIATELY ON THE NEW ONE*. I forgot to replace mine, and by the time I realized, I was buttoning the interior of the door up, so I said screw it. As far as replacing parts goes, this is one of only ones I could suggest that DIY is okay, as long you have the right size torx and triple square bits. When initially removing the inner door, there is only one screw that is not like the other 3, with a total of 4. The lone screw is at the bottom. If you really care about your interior, be sure to use tough plastic trim tools and not metal screw drivers, I need not tell you what can happen. When you get some leeway at the bottom when removing the inner door, keep constant pulling pressure, sliding your left hand toward the tail-end of the door as you start hearing the clips get removed. It's tough plastic but it still has its limits.

Hello sir. I have a VW Touran 2006 and the handle bar is pretty loose it unlocks and locks just fine but it’s loose and won’t go all the way in it keeps sticking out a bit. I tryed to tighten it up but the T20 screw won’t tight up at all 😩 any solutions? Thanks

Before you do anything, remove the door handle and make sure the electrical connection is tight and locked. If it is then proceed to get your parts and special tool. On my car the passenger side electrical connection wasn’t being made because some dumb ass either didn’t bother to slide the lock closed. Or maybe they opened the lock when they inserted the door handle into the door. Either way, careless. When the connection isn’t made the door latch won’t even latch let alone lock. You have to take the handle off anyways. Why not see if you can save some money before you go pulling the door apart?

Tried doing this myself, the driver door lock is completely dead. Both screws that hold on the lock actuator immediately stripped… hope I can have someone else fix it.

PLEASE READ I did all the steps but I don’t know how to reinstall the door panel there is literally no videos I can find of people reinserting the door panel I was struggling for two hours and will probably take it to a mechanic do you have any solutions for me. I don’t know what to do, the retainer clips are so hard to put in there are so many I can do it all at the same time !

the issue ive been having with my 16 jetta is that the driver door won't lock at all even with keys. everytime i lock it, the system unlock it. i don't know how to fix this issue

Why can’t you just show how to manually lock front driver side???????????
