I just got an $1100 estimate from my soon to be fired mechanic to change my thermostat housing. I’m going to do this change myself and then walk in to my mechanics office and tell them they’re fired
they remove the whole intake because they replace the whole housing what is unneeded unless its leaking..its 140 bucks and the thermostat is 15-20.. also every tsi motor is diffrent with the years while mines easy (14 passat tsi ) example a tiguans tsi engine is crammed and hard to do anything. good video regardless
I've been having trouble with this for the last 3 days, where does the supplied gasket with the thermostat go upon reinstall...thanks for any advice/help anyone has.
Most likely my coolant leaks completely to the bottom everytime ingo above certain rpm or just in a couple miles , I had someone look at it and they said I have no leaking up too nothing leaking from hoses, coolant etc but when he went under he saw leaking from thermostat housing so I’m guessing we’re in the same situation
