It's the battle of the 12s: Rodgers vs. Brady, in the first career meeting between the QBs, as the 8-3 Packers host the 9-2 Patriots at Lambeau Field in a crucial late-season battle.
When Aaron Rodgers retires, all of the QBs I grew up watching will have been retired. Brady, the Manning brothers, Brees, Roethlisberger, Rivers, Rodgers, to an extent Joe Flacco. I feel old now
Yeah, only ones we have remaining are rodgers, Flacco, and (to an extent) stafford. Flacco looks like he won’t be a starter anymore, it’s only a matter of time before rodgers retires, and idk about stafford. Will miss the era that started in the very early 2000s for sure!
It’s sad bro. The best era of football is gone. Flacco is at the end. Rodgers likely will be around 1 or 2 more. Hell, even Matt Ryan & Stafford. They’re all at the end.
@@worldsgreatestdude1784 I wouldn’t say the worst cause about half the league has franchise quarterbacks right now. I think with the game being so modernized, it ruins the experience. It’ll never be like it was watching a game from the 2000’s & early to mid 10’s.
@@Drakelung Yeah well remember when Seattle lost, actually got their asses HANDED to them .... 5 interceptions? Every team at one point in time has beaten another team. It's when fans of teams who win ONE game out of many and all of a sudden are cocky? That's hilarious!
That woulda been a fascinating Super Bowl. The one we got was obviously great and historic, but Packers really blew it. You could argue the 2014 Packers was the best team Rodgers has had.
@@jacksonconley5117 not always. Nfl can be as much about matchups as it is talent. The 07 Patriots are still probably Brady’s best team, yet they lost.
This was basically THE regular season game of the 2014 season. I know the Packers lost to Seattle in the championship game, but everyone knows that they were the best team in the NFC. Imo, this matchup came down to who had home field advantage, both the Patriots and Packers were the two best home teams for many years. But had GB made the Super Bowl, I think New England wins with the neutral playing field and second opportunity.
@@greysonG10 GB was garbage and ARod disguised that but SEA was the number one seed in the NFC, they had just won the SB, destroyed GB in week 1 and had one of the greatest defenses of all time LOL Hawks were clearly better
@@30h5tillimdead Idk bro. Seattle wasn't anything special in 2014, they were far better the previous season. I think GB probably would have won convincingly if they were playing at home. They should have won regardless in the championship game, and just sat back and blew it.
brady vs rodgers in the super bowl could've been like the ronaldo vs messi type of game! fuckin seahawks had to fuck it all up! it's like when the magics beat the cavs in the eastern conference finals and denying kobe vs lebron for the nba championship!!!!
This was similar to many losses during SB years for the Patriots. Carolina in 2015, KC(Also in 2014), Pittsburgh in 2018, Seattle in 2016 come to mind. It made the Patriots BETTER. Kept them humble. GB was great at that time. One of those games where whomever was home just had that slight edge.
@@jamtop1105 2014 regular season lost to GB, won SB in Feb 2015. 2016 regular season they lost to Seattle, Won the SB in Feb 2017. 2017 lost to Carolina went 11-1 to finish the regular season, they lost but still made another SB in Feb 2018. 2018 they lost to the Steelers, Won the SB in Feb 2019... You gotta forgive me... With their complete and utter dominance, the years blur together. But the point is, look at basically every season they got to the SB(07' they didn't lose til the SB but had a ton of tough games down the stretch), 2011 they had back to back Ls off their Bye to Pit and NYG. I guess 2014 can just be KC but the loss to GB was the one to remind them they're not invincible.
I can't believe this was 8 years ago, which at the time was during Tom Brady's 14th NFL season, and he hadn't won a Superbowl in 10 years. He would go on to win 4 more after this game starting that playoff. I was really hoping for a Brady vs Rodgers Super Bowl.
@@freelightyear Ikr. I remember before Super Bowl 49 I was just hoping Brady would get 4 total to tie Montana before his career was over. I was so tired of him being stuck at 3, knowing how good the Pats had been many of the years between 04-14. And then he goes and wins more than he already had lol. Makes up for those 10 years that they didn't win anything.
Hey Bart do you happen to have the 2006 Rams vs Chiefs game? I see that you uploaded it but it’s not available. Do you have it on a link or anywhere else?
Too bad that Eddie Lacy couldn't have stayed on the Jennie Craig diet! He is in phenomenal health here and was a beast! He wasn't near this good after he gained 60 lbs.
Was looking for a game to watch and stumbled upon this! What a great game and even better win for Roger's. I love to see Brady frustrated and using language that is quit clear to see, and to slowly fall apart. Great job and great WIN for Rogers.🎉🎉
@@patriciaaznavourian3014the two teams meet every 4 years. Patriots hosted in 2002, 2010, and 2018. Now with the new rules implemented in terms of the extra inter conference matchups, the two teams can meet every 2 years (aside from if they make the Super Bowl, of course). For example, 2022, packers hosted the pats. They can meet again in 2023 if both teams make the Super Bowl. 2024 the extra interconference matchup means that the teams could meet in the regular season if both teams finish in the same position in their division. Does this make sense? Let me know and I can try to explain it in another way if you’d like
Man Eddie Lacy had so much potential! Some of his runs were just insane to watch. Pulling 3, 4, 5, 6 tacklers down the field? He had power, speed, and at times a great eye for the hole. Too bad his weight was such a major factor. We have a great RB now but still Eddie Lacy was fun to watch at times! This game was one of those times!
I’m a Seahawks fan and I was at that NFC Championship game. I still can’t believe we were robbed of both LeBron vs Kobe and Rodgers-Brady in their respective championship games.
The only year that Kobe VS LeBron would have been good was 2011 maybe. That was the first year LeBron had a good team, and basically the last year that Kobe had a good team. But it wouldn't have really been fun to watch LeBron and the Cavs get swept by Kobe and the Lakers in 2008, 2009, and 2010.
@@louisalexandercrocco3530he means that Brady got the last laugh that year, as even tho the pats lost this game, they’d win the Super Bowl whereas the packers didn’t even make it to the big game
1:54:00 is what made the Patriots so damn good 4th and 3 late 4th quarter and they run the out route with Edelman not turning around to see the ball the last possible split second. Precision at its finest from Brady and Edelman.
I know he got burned moments later, but 1:04:58 shows Revis's skills. Nelson, a Pro Bowl caliber receiver, tries to get free and Revis is just in his hip pocket each step of the way. From 2008-14 he was just the best in the game by a mile.
1:18:50 It's amazing that this seemingly benign reference would less than 2 months later become the substance of Deflategate, arguably the NFL's most contentious, high-profile scandal since Spygate in '07.
This honestly should have been the Super Bowl matchup but of course since my life(1990) they blew that game against Seattle in NFC Championship Game. This is a Seahawk fan here
Is it customary at all for refs to help players up from the ground? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a ref help Brady up while I just saw in this replay a ref helping Rodgers up? I understand empathy but I was just curious
Aaron Rodgers failure log 2009: Overthrew game winning TD in OT. Game ending fumble on next play 2013: Defense did well only allowing 23 points, Rodgers threw for an abysmal 177 yards and overall played poorly leading to defeat 2014: Packers defense holds Wilson under 50% completion, gets 5 turnovers, 5 sacks. Rodgers throws for under 200 yards and 2 picks, fails the team miserably. 2015: Packers run game was great in this game and their defense only allowed 20 in regulation. It took a miracle hail mary for Rodgers and the Packers to score 20 pts 2017: Shutout in the first half 2019: Shutout in the first half 2020: Missed wide open TD early, had to kick FG. INT set up Tampa TD before half. Down by 5 in the 4th, defense got 2 INT's, Rodgers goes 3 and out both times. Watching this as a packers fan, and imaging the super bowl that could've been.... but tom brady's iconic double "fuck!" 2:02:45 helps me sleep at night.
It'll always hurt that we didn't get a rematch in the Superbowl, that would've been a great one. We should've gotten Rodgers v Brady in the Superbowl, and there were multiple chances for that
Holy crap the 2014 Packers are amazing. Jordy + Cobb + Adams + Lacy + Amazing OL. 1st drive they pound lacy and the Pats cant get off blocks or tackle him. Then, Watch the drive that starts at 28:36, Slinging it, the Patriots have zero answers at this point. The Pats are only single high safety 1 in the box to stop Lacy, and it wasnt even stopping him. BUT, 13th place defense... That bit them in the final 2 minutes of the NFC Championship.
Unfortunately everyone tends to forget great squads that lose postseason. I never do that, great seasons are great, I rewatch at least 1 classic game a week every offseason thanks to Bart.
Patriots would have destroyed GB had the Packers actually made the Super Bowl. Imo, this matchup came down to who had home field advantage. Both NE and GB were the two best home teams for many years, but you give Bill and Tom a second opportunity and a neutral playing field and they aren't losing.
@@scruffd0g193 that and Super Bowl 51. Sorry, but I think the falcons were overrated that year, and green bay already took care of the cowboys in the division round that season
I love seeing these 2 icons play. Too bad Rodgers was injured during the NFC title game against the Seahawks. Otherwise I think the Packers would have won and we would have seen these 2 in a rematch game in the Super Bowl

I feel like if Matthews had more moves on the edge he would have had even more sacks. He needed more spin to get on the inside and not get flushed out.
