The final chapter of the legendary Manning-Brady rivalry unfolds with everything on the line, as Denver and New England face off for the right to play in Super Bowl 50.
Rest In Peace my brothers Demaryius Thomas and Ronnie Hillman. This season was every broncos fan's most incredible memory. Thank you for being a part of it.
Rip man. I still can’t believe they’re dead, especially DT. He was one of my favorite players when first watching football back then and i was devastated to hear how he died
It seems like nobody used to talk about how the Broncos went from being called the greatest offense (statistically), got wrekt in the Super Bowl - and then proceeded to reinvent themselves and make it back to the Super Bowl two years later with one of the best ever defenses.
You could see Manning choking up after he meets Brady in the middle and then Belichick. He had said to both of them, "...this may be my last rodeo." They gave him classy, encouraging words, and he gets understandably emotional. He knew his body wasn't going to be able to go anymore, but also felt a great sense of relief in realizing this would be his sunset.
@@washburn11000 bc league rigged every yr for him people still watch rigged brady games cheering like idiots mostly white supremist and rich white people like brady rigged games his penalties to extend his drives all the time and to stall other team drives let you know its not a fair league
The last matchup of Brady v. Manning is memorable, but my favorite one was the 2007 AFC Championship- Patriots and Colts. Manning/Colts overcome a 21-3 deficit to win 38-34 and win SB 41. The fact that Tom Brady is still playing at an elite level at 44 years old gives testimony to how well he takes care of himself.
The only reason why QBs are playing into their 40s is because the rules protect them so much that the D gets flagged if they look at the QB the wrong way.
Eh, not really. A worn out Manning, and Brady going up against the best defense in the league. It was more of a battle between NE offense and Denver defense which is entertaining but most people wouldn’t even put it top 20 games in the past 10 years. Hell for me personally it might barely make top 50 in the past 10 years. I guess if you like the Broncos or dislike Pats I could see why but tbh this game wasn’t the most exciting outside of Brady and Manning being in it
@@Speedy-pb6dc @Jared Volle I was cheering for the patriots, actually. For me, it was about the defensive play. I love hard-hitting defensive games. There are games that yeah, had way better finishes, higher scoring...but i like how tense and methodical this was. It reminded me of 90s football so it's one of my faves. I can think of some games the last couple of years that were more exciting: chiefs/rams, niners/saints, vikings/saints, cowboys/packers, Patriots vs. Eagles and Falcons super bowls, also manning vs. brady in that afc title game in Indy would be on most lists...but I prefer that sunday night game with moss and welker on the pats to that one. Two of my favorites were games with manning as well: when he beat the broncos in denver with 3 reggie wayne touchdowns and a game against the steelers in Pittsburgh i forget what year of 2008-2010 it was. Another great one was packers vs. cardinals in the playoffs. Rodgers vs. Warner in an amazing duel. A lot of great ones kn this playlist: ru-vid.com/group/PLRdw3IjKY2gljzUFGcwPcxF0jTM-GVcjc Truthfully my favorite football game this century wasn't even pros, it was Clemson vs. Ohio State in the fiesta bowl a couple of seasons ago.
I was fortunate to be at this game (section 100, row 37, seat 37). Just in front of the suite Peyton Manning had for his family and friends. The Manning clan were always awesome!
I had to listen to this game on the radio and i remember it well. Actually I think that made it even more memorable for me. Edit: I was a mail carrier in Denver and we started Sunday package delivery for Amazon in fall of 2015. I listened to most of the Broncos games on the radio that year.
Im here 7 years later, still cannot believe that Denver defence... Every single player is a pro bowler. So much has happened since that game but its still emotional to re live it. RIP DT & RH. They did all a man could wish to accomplish. To think this was the last Manning-Brady match up, insane. Happy Peyton left on a high.
I know he didn’t get the 2 point but this is one of them moments where you’re like yeah, Brady really is that clutch. He was getting demolished the whole game by Ware and Von. The left and right tackles looked like statues, but still, like most of his career, when they absolutely needed a touch down to save their season, he came through on 2 4th downs. Reminds me of the 3rd downs in the Kansas city 2018 AFC Champ game. So clutch
I was BLESSED to see the Super Bowl 32/33 Broncos teams LIVE every home game for those years as well as this team here! One of the most ELECTRIC home games I could recall besides the AFC Championship home game in 98! Great QUALITY upload & thanks for removing commercials!!! BRONCOS COUNTRY! 🔥🔥🔥
Happily ever after for the Peyton Manning Broncos that season. You don’t often see a great team go through several years in a row of playoff heartbreak, reinvent themselves, get back up, and finally win it all. And to have Peyton ride off into the sunset with a second Super Bowl ring is incredibly special.
Man I got chills and a little teary eyed watching the beginning and all the orange. I went to this game and luckily enough we won the superbowl lottery for the season ticket owners. My Dad and I went. But this game was way better and more fun than the SB. It was so much fun but thank you Peyton for the best 4 years or football I ever got to watch. I went to about 75% of the home game when he was on the Broncos. I'll always have those memories of him quieting the crowd whenever we got a little to loud. But he taught the crowd a different way of cheering. Finally I'll aways remember the game he played vs the Titans and it was like 3° and people said he couldnt play in the cold. He ended up throwing for like 430 yards and 5 TDs and Prater hit a 63 yarder going into halftime. That's football for you. Thank you for this upload.
I wasn't so fortunate. I could just feel the electricity from the crowd coming through my television. Y'all sounded like the old Mile High Stadium. I can only imagine how great it was to witness it live, in person. I hope you kept your stubs and a program or something else from that game!!
Thanks. This Broncos team gave me so many heart attacks that season and this game was the biggest of them. But what a great season with a Super Bowl and Manning riding off into the sunset. Then everything went to crap lol
Ahhh dont get offended folks ,im a Steelers fan just like they let jerome bettis ride of in the sunset they let P.Manning ride off maybe next time it will be brady because that is how they do it.
After watching what the bucs did to the chiefs, I remembered this game because it’s the last time a d line absolutely wrecked an entire game. Denver’s defense was better in this game than the super bowl.
@@localwillow9948 Broncos by far. Had to deal with a horrible offense and the no fly zone>>>>bucs secondary. I wouldn’t say the bucs are even one of the top defenses of the decade. Lob, Broncos, 2017 Jaguars, 2018 bears are way better. Bucs defense got hot starting in the saints game.
@@localwillow9948 Broncos definitely by a long shot. Don’t get me wrong bucs defense was really good but chiefs o line was trash that super bowl game and made their defense look better then they already were.
@@localwillow9948 I would say the Bucs defense is younger so It can cover guys in the outfield a little better because of their young guys in Winfield Jr. Devin White. Etc. But Denver was a little better at putting pressure on the QB. Because remember the D Line for TB is veteran. But TBs out field is young kids running around With no injuries and nothing keeping them from Jumping 20 Ft to snag a Interception or Get tired and beat on a route.
I still remember watching this game live with my best friend and his family. I'm a diehard Broncos fan and they're all Panthers fans. Denver's defense was absolutely insane and I thought "if anyone can stack up against the Carolina Panthers offense, it's this team." They went out and did it and won our third Superbowl. We've been trash since but I'll always cherish the memory of this season.
@@goldenhawkalumni5341 against the Steelers before this he was even better but his receivers kept dropping the ball. Other than that, he had like 1 other good game, which was against the Packers
in addition to Demaryius and Ronnie passing away, the Broncos’ QB coach Greg Knapp died a few months before we all lost DT. PFM has gone of the record to explain just how special Knapp was and how much credit he deserved for not only the record-setting offenses of 2012-2014; but also the 2015 season. Manning has said that Knapp was able to guide Peyton through changing his entire career style of playing QB to become a guy who basically was able to get that once in a generation defense their rest between possessions and always in a spot where they were able to play their style of defense. To have a Hall of Fame QB change his entire mindset of how to play, on the go right as you’re headed into the playoffs and go on to win it all is unheard of! The fact that we lost Greg Knapp, and then a few months later we lose DT and then less than a year later Ronnie passes away…was just too surreal as a Broncos fan. I’m just happy that all three men were able to reach the pinnacle of their careers together and achieve something that’s forever: Champions.
People who said Mahomes had no chance in the superbowl need to watch this game by Brady. He look major punishment this game and was a 2 point conversion from tying it up.
Except gronk wasn’t dropping balls. Mahomes literally had two touchdown drops. And also, it helped that Peyton was incompetent starting in the second quarter. The Tampa offense was eating the chiefs defense alive, but Denver’s offense did pretty much nothing after the first two touchdowns.
Mahomes defense allowed 4 TDs on their 1st 6 drives. Tom Brady’s defense allowed 4 scores in 16 drives. That is the only reason he was in a position to tie the game at all.
@@battlestar1788 All of his starting WRs & TEs were playing. The only starting player who wasn’t playing was Deion Lewis as the 3rd down RB. The O-Line was full of different starting combinations all year long. They had the receivers, they just played into Denver’s hands by deciding to abandon the run. 63 called pass plays vs 14 designed running plays against a pass rush as good as Denver’s was a losing proposition. If Denver’s offense doesn’t go into “let’s just burn clock” mode the last 10 minutes; the game is never close.
So proud to be a Broncos fan this season. I knew we had it in us after the Ravens and Seahawks shit show. Wasn’t pretty offensively, but watching Von and the D was it all. Against Roethlisberger, Brady and Newton nonetheless. RIP to DT. One of the best WRs of these years, so happy he got his Super Bowl.
One of the all time defences maybe best playoff defense of all time. But they still got no respect during the season from the average fan and no one ever talked bout em.
Tbh the Broncos coaches just went into “run clock” mode on offense at around 13:46 in the 2nd Qtr. They just banked the defense could hold an 8 point lead. The 2 FG drives were a product of solid field position off punts by NE deep in their own end. Not many teams would have the balls to say “go win the game, it’s 100% on you” w/ 43 minutes of game left against the most accomplished QB of all-time; but Wade Phillips & the defense proved up to the task in this game. A top 3 defense of the 21st century. Only 2000 Ravens & 2013 Seahawks even belong in the same conversation.
First of all this game was amazing to be at it watching the replay is sensational excellent evaluation. Great to have those gears turn in my head again 😊
This game even in a loss is one of Brady’s best performances. 2015 season they looked unstoppable till all the injuries down 3 Oline men both starting RBs and Gronk/Edleman banged. The Denver defense was special but this is what Mahomes has to learn, everything can’t be deep
@@jrad410 I know people praised him but I was saying Tom Brady fans would give another QB grief if they put up similar numbers. Most Tom Brady fans I know have been pointing out how Mahomes played in that Super Bowl all offseason. I kindly point out that Brady has similarly struggled when pressured the same way Mahomes was in SB 55, but the difference was that Tom Brady’s defense played well in the 2015 AFC title game aside from two mistakes in the Red Zone by Jamie Collins on Owen Daniels. So that kept the game within reach for Tom Brady despite the hits & the struggles. The Kansas City defense allowed 4 TDs on their 1st 6 possessions. The two QBs had totally differing levels of team support in the 2 games. Brady got enough from his defense to give him a shot to be the hero. The game was basically over for Mahomes by the 3rd Qtr.
ONLY brady could have made this a game. Its one of my favorite Brady games because he still took it to the wire even though he was getting harassed and seeing ghost all day. Ive never seen him this out sorts in the pocket besides this game. Even with that, its crazy to think Brady missed a wide open gronk to tie the game. Hats off to that 2015 Bronco defense. Their pass rush was as good as ANY team ive ever seen in the playoffs. Virtually unlockable.
Well said. There was a game in 2006 against the chargers. It was the divisional round, and the chargers were a behemoth that year with Shawn merriman, Tomlinson, just talent everywhere. The Patriots weren't the same and Brady's best receiver was jabar Gaffney. That defense gave it to Brady all game they were even up 11 in the fourth. But just like this game, the boy Brady just kept coming, and they ended up with the upset. It was that game, I knew Brady was goat level
“Only Brady” you mean the patriots defense kept this a game. As the patriots had one real touchdown drive as the other came off a turnover deep in broncos end. So not sure how can credit Brady for keeping it close as the defense literally had clamped down on Denver after the 1st.
While his body had broken down and he could no longer do what we all were used to, the Broncos don't win Super Bowl 50 without Peyton Manning. Yes, the defense had a spectacular run in the playoffs, but they weren't that good during the regular season. Furthermore, with Brock Osweiler as the starter, Denver was about to slip to the 5th seed, and there's no way they run through the playoffs with him. Manning may not have been getting 300 yards and 3+ TD's anymore, but his brain was still perfectly healthy. He was still putting the Broncos offense into the right plays that sustained drives enough to either end in points or flip the field, while also giving that defense plenty of time to rest. He needed only to be a game manager for that run, and that's what he did. He could still make a lot of the throws, but it probably caused him a lot of pain. Also, Denver's offensive line was TERRIBLE at this stage.
Yup. They needed his spark in the 2nd half against the Chargers and he had to overcome a ton of drops against the Steelers. He made one big throw late on 3rd and long on the GW drive. Other than the one pick in the SB he played pretty clean the last 3 1/2 games.
I almost forgot how great both of these defenses played in this game. Not trying to sound like Belichick or anything but Denver just made a few more plays than the Patriots did. Once they got past the Pats noting was gonna stop Manning from winning it all this year. Who knew what Tom was gonna go on to do, it's unreal what these 2 guys accomplished tho, pro football at it's best.
This is some cringe level homerism. Literally any other QB has this same exact game & stat line; Brady’s fans are racing to call them a choke artist. Prove me wrong.
As a 2000s kid, seeing these NFL throwbacks makes me really sad for some reason. It's like the NFL I grew up with no longer exists :( But at the same time I'm glad I got to see it, this was an awesome era for football!
Crazy how this was the only time New England got eliminated before the Super Bowl during the 2nd wave of domination in the Brady/Belichick era (2014-2018).
This Broncos defense is arguably the best ever. Every position filled with pro bowl type talent. Even the slot corner. The best defense at stopping the tight end I’ve ever seen.
@@DenverBroncosReport Very rare to see indeed. Everybody make sure you get your screencaps in before this video inevitably gets copyright striked by the one and only shit-for-brains Roger Goodell and this EXTREMELY rare comment disappears with it!!
Falcons SB was far more gutsy, broke the record for times knocked down in a SUPERBOWL, and overcames 4 or 5 sacks and a 25 point deficit and NO GRonk..... Greatest game ever played by a QB was the Superbowl versus the Falcons.
@@julianmayo5650 well we agree to disagree on this one :) the SB comeback was epic, just in this game the amount of times Brady was hit he had no right to get within one play 4th quarter comeback
@@julianmayo5650 Nah man, if Bellichick doesn’t challenge the backwards pass, he is in no position to even be the hero. They got flat outplayed, blaming it on a missed extra point in the 1st Qtr. is a weak cop-out. NE was 4/17 on 3rd & 4th down, 2 of 5 getting TDs in the Red Zone & couldn’t sustain any running game whatsoever, as evidenced by Tom Brady finishing as the leading rusher. If Denver’s offense didn’t go into “just burn clock” mode the last 10 minutes of the game & actually attempted to sustain drives & run a normal offense; the game could’ve been over sooner w/ one more FG. New England just got caught off guard in the Red Zone twice on defense & couldn’t block the Denver Pass Rush at all; which is especially bad when you ask Tom Brady to dropback 60 times whilst rarely giving his O-Linemen help blocking. It just wasn’t their game to win. A missed PAT in the 1st Qtr is hard to pin the loss on given all the other problems New England had in this game.
@@P0RKINS2 With one more field goal for Denver (or the Denver D not being a total nightmare for Pats all game), Patriots kick one or both of two field goals instead of going for it on 4th down and failing twice in the last 6 minutes (it being a two score game then). So no, Denver managing one or two more field goals would not have mattered. It really did come down to that missed extra point. If Pats kick just one of those field goals Patriots win. Saying that the backwards pass is the difference is like saying if only Brady didn’t get picked 🤷♂️ PS considering that besides their first drive, Denver’s longest drive was 48 yards I doubt that they could put up more field goals even if they tried…
@@Pingo21 Brady’s two scoring drives were 21 yards & 52 yards. What you just said is more applicable to New England than Denver. You saying a missed extra point in the 1st Qtr is the difference but the backwards pass wasn’t is more a sign you are just butthurt that Brady & the offense laid an egg in this game than anything else. Both things happened in the 1st Qtr. Lol So you analogizing it to Brady’s pick at the end is just stupid & petty given that the missed extra point literally came on the possession following the backwards pass. So when something happens early & it effects your team “it was the difference” but not when something effects the other team in the exact same scenario/circumstances/point in the game LMAO New England went for it w/ 4 minutes left. It wasn’t unreasonable for Bellichick to assume they’d never see it w/ enough time. You should try a different sport, maybe basketball is more your speed.
Great and thrilling end to the Brady-Manning rivalry...even though my patriots lost, gotta give credit to the broncos defense, they were hungry and ready for war and it was Denver's year..plus the final time my pats would miss the super bowl..Peyton Manning's final game plus Dave Degulilemo's final game as pats o line coach...coach scar returned the following season and my pats hadnt had an issue with the o-line since coach scar returned....rip pat bowlen and tom heckert..
@@beezy22, this is one of those times where if the Patriots won this game, I would’ve guaranteed they would’ve beat Carolina in the Super Bowl. The all around talent on the Patriots that year was scary, so when Denver won, I was shocked. More so shocked because no side of the ball played bad. It’s just that Denver D played the game of their lives.
Seeing the two greatest quarterbacks go at it one last time I'm pretty sure these two are gonna have a beer when they get older and share these memories they had on the field together
Funny (or sad) thing about this is, had this been the Manning from the previous few seasons, this Broncos team likely goes undefeated and wins this game 50-6. The defense wasn't great all season, but they got better and better as the playoffs wore on. They clobbered both Brady and Newton, so that a broken-down brainiac at QB was able to out-duel them.
If “wasn’t great” means #1 ranked in most major categories & being one of only 3 defenses ever to finish as the #1 defense & finish w/ 50+ sacks in a SB winning season; or being one of only two defenses to be ranked #1 in sacks, total defense while setting a sack record in the Super Bowl, then sure.
Patriots had half their offense gone with injuries, forced to sign Steven Jackson in December to be their starting RB. The Pats should have been the #1 seed.
Who cares what the record is Eli Manning won a Superbowl with a giants team that was 9-7 record only means something for seeding and homefield otherwise it doesn't matter. A Lombardi is a Lombardi no matter what road is taken to get it
Brady faced 4 do or die situations in 1 drive in to save the Patriots season. He converted on 3 of them against one of the best defenses of all time. He left it all on the field that day
I made the mistake of not watching much NFL this year, and missed this game. What a classic. So impressed by Edelman's effort to force the fumble on the final 2 point conversion after the INT, get injured in the process, only for his low awareness OL to fall on the football instead.
