This was a good game to teach Alabama not to ever take any other football team for granted! Glad we won, and learned a great lesson for furture games as well! ROLL TIDE ANYWAY AND ALWAYS!
As Bama Rewind stated, West Virginia had a legitimate shot to win this game and pretty much went toe to toe with Bama all afternoon. The crazy thing is Bama would give up tons of long TD's, but if the opponent didn't strike from outside the redzone, the defense would hold them. West Virginia got inside the 20 twice and only got 2 field goals. In the Iron Bowl later that season Auburn was in the red zone EIGHT times and scored 2 TDs, 5 field goals, and got stopped on downs the other possession. It seemed like the Bama D played much better with less ground to cover in the secondary.
@@richardpierce4908 cause our secondary was awful this year. Eddie Jackson was still playing CB so Landon Collins didn’t have much help as Cyrus Jones didn’t come into his own until the next season. AlwYs wondered why Marlon Humphries was redshirted this season but not Tony Brown.
I worried about this game all offseason. I also worried about our defense after this game. West Virginia moved the ball well but couldn't punch it in the redzone.
