Bought my 2015 S8 about 8 months ago. It has everything this one has plus the audio package. Unbelievable car. Getting into the throttle pins you in your seat and you're over a hundred before you realize it. Comfort, steering, braking, acceleration, are all top tier as you would expect. But the ride and comfort is on another level, luxury at it's best. My only complaint is how quiet it is. There is no way to open the exhaust valves all the time and this thing is really quiet for a 520HP V8. Even if you do put it into dynamic mode or set the individual engine sound, it reverts back when you shut it off and even with the engine set to dynamic, there's a noticeable difference in the sound when the car is set to sport. The problem with that is, sport mode is for zipping around and the engine revs like you're racing when you just want to cruise with the engine louder. No idea why they chose to make you struggle to bring this engine sound out. On top of that, been pricing exhausts for it and it'll run you around 4 grand for a decent one. Overall though this is a beautiful car. Polished and fast, great to drive. Just wish they had made it with more options to get better exhaust.
@@DMCarReviews I agree. Just wish they had made it optional to make it louder. It's basically the only complaint about these cars I see. But yeah this car ends up being a massive sleeper. In the time I've owned it I've only had one person even ask me about it and they thought it was an A8 lol.
Hey man what a coincidence i got mine last November too! It’s everything i can ask for and more, don’t be sad for the exhaust not be as loud thing, the beauty of this car that it’s sleeper, first owner god bless him, he put everything in this car, freakin fridge, rear massage seats, rear cooling and heating seats, carbon ceramic brake, solar sunroof, night vision, matrix headlights, even auxiliary heating option, love it and love to drive it every single time, thanks for this RU-vidr he made me appreciate my car more!
@@DMCarReviews - thx brotha - trading in my 15' All Road - S8 has 62K on it - picking it up for 35ish.....1 owner , 2015 was a great year, all service records complete.. fingers crossed...
@@jdmteggy2388 well, the rest of the family was so used to sitting high , panaromic roof and all the new features interior lighting and all that but they didnt understand cars like i do 😀
I rented a Turo A8L for a road trip, honestly amazing car, I personally don't like big cars and hate SUVs, so I wasn't expecting much, but I was surprised at how nice it was to drive. It didn't feel like a boat at all, and it had so much power for being huge. Downside was the gas mileage was horrible and premium gas on top. Would I rent it again though? Absolutely.
At 6:47 the car makes a weird sound like a cd player searching for a track or something. I have this same car a 2016 S8 and it makes the same exact sound when it starts up every time. I've checked the cd player and there there's no disc in it. Wondering what it could be.
Hi, I drive an S8 in Japan. My car also has a sound of the disc changer periodically operating, looking for a disc. There is no disc in the car, but it makes a clunking sound for about a minute. I give it up as a specification, because I don't mind it after I get used to it.
@@DMCarReviewsI did . They said that year and make wasn’t on the list for coverage . Most places won’t touch it and the ones who can won’t take the dash out.
Great looking vehicle & one thing is for sure you must have the cash to maintain this vehicle outside of warranty, & when purchasing used most owners are unaware of the cost to maintain this vehicle until it's time, especially if it's a mechanical breakdown
@@DMCarReviews My mistake, I meant to compare the S8 Plus with 605 hp to the RS7 Performance with 605 hp. Whenever I search on RU-vid for "S8 Plus," your video comes up, so I watch it. I mistakenly think it's an S8 Plus (it's actually a regular S8, but I imagined it was an S8 Plus - that's where I went wrong). Greetings from Europe. And sorry for grammatical errors
Well, I'd definitely have to disagree here. The A5/S5/RS5 is built ito the same standards as the A4/S4/RS4. If you ever drive an 6/7/8 they are on a different level. They are more solid and quiet and the difference is noticeable immediately. Nobody buys this car from how loud it is but when you have double pane glass and more sound deadener, you can bet it will be more quiet. As far as fast goes, even an RS5 doesn't stand a chance against this car. And if you tune it and the RS5, the RS5 doesn't stand a chance. A simple software tune on a B9 RS5 can put the car at 500hp/556ft lbs and factory an S8 is 577hp/556ft lbs. Software tune only puts the S8 at 667hp/697ft lbs. If this is the case, what can a B9 S5 do? Don't get me wrong, I love them both but even a 4.0T A8 with a tune is not a car to mess with. I'd tune them all. An A8 4.0T with RS7 turbos and a tune has been running 9s for a year or so. Note I said A8 not S8.
@@Todd.T Actually, you're incorrect here. I got the same times on an RS5 and an S8, so they have comparable performance! Sure a stage 1 on an S8 will give more power, but it's a way heavier car, and the RS5 can be modded to a desired level too with a turbo swap. You can put a big turbo on a Civic Si and run 10s with slicks, but it doesn't mean that stock it's a super fast car.
@@DMCarReviews I race at the track and have a dragy. Factory 2013 S8s were running 11.8 and now they run 11.5. (Matt Watson went 11.4) Fastest I have seen an RS5 was 11.8 (Matt Watson again). At the track I didn't see much from an S5 but I don't think the guy knew how to launch it. I don't think he went better than a 12.4. I have an A6 3.0 with pulleys and I spun and ripped a hidden screw out of the tire (flat by 60mph and making grumbling noises), short shifted the 2-3 bad and still went 12.0 at 115mph three wheeling it. All of it was recorded using an HP tuners scanner and you can see all the issues. If I got rid of my car, to get the next generation A6 with a turbo, I would definitley change the turbo as the car can make huge power, but a modified 4.0T is a force to be reckoned with and the larger displacement and dual power adders are pretty much insurmountable by a 2.9/3.0 with a single power adder. In regards to the S5, RS5, RS3 on the roadcourse, if it is a small tight course, you can see the cars struggle in typical Audi fashion with trying to understeer. Look up IOWA RS7 on Audizine and see the insane power of his build.
