Follow us & our fur babies as we work & live life on the road.
My hubby & I are truck drivers and love traveling the country along with our two chihuahuas. We live in our truck for 2.5 to 3 months at a time hauling freight and enjoying all the sights we get to see.
I have always loved taking photos to document our travels & am just now starting to document with video as well. I'm in the begining stages of "Vlogging" and still have ALOT to learn. I do love putting these montage videos together and sharing them. My hope is to continue improving the quality & content. I hope you enjoy!
Thanks for watching & sharing in our adventures!
Heather :o)

Thank you for the tour of the sleeper. Makes me really want to get back on the road. Drove over the road in the 80s for a company was home in one year a total of 21 days. Lived in a sleeper that with arms out to side elbows hit front and back.

Greetings, to y'all. I was a travel nurse before retiring 2 years ago. I have seen the Panther straight trucks at various truck stops. My brother was a former OTR Trucker for KLLM for many years. I am impressed with the room you have since it is not just a sleeper. I do look at other trucker video blogs like Trucker Josh, Allie Knight, and Jade and her husband.

Hi David! Thank you we are very lucky to have the amount of room we have in the truck. We enjoying watching all of their Vlogs too! We are still in the rookie vlogging stage compared to those guys. They are all such an inspiration for us and our videos. We want to show the expediting side of trucking since not a lot of folks know about it.

Boy! that is the biggest sleeper ive seen, i havent seen them in years tho. Storage is hugely fantastic! Ive been watching so many "storage for small spaces" videos latley. Seems they use alot of small baskets n boxes in drawers and cabinets like you keep clothes in. I heard you mention cabin|t organization so I was just sitting here thinking that little lazy suzanne type gadgets might work good in the kitchen uptop? Or/and those pull out shelves on roller things perhaps. Ive really found your videos so interesting and your so personable. Hope you dont think Im a new kind of creeper. lol Ive watched a few and commented this morning. Oh and like always i am thumbs uppin them! See you guys around the tubes Iam sure cause i hit the bell too. *snicker* I been wanting to say that since I learned of that feature lately. 🐝🐞🌻🌹

AnnyaMoon Hi Annya! Thanks so much ... LOL no worries we don't think your a creeper 😜 We really enjoy have the big sleeper. It definitely makes living out here for months much more comfortable. That's a good idea on the lazy Suzanne's and pull out shelves. There are still a couple cabinets I need to get better organized. Maybe I will get that done this year. 😉 Happy New Year!!

Awesome sleeper! Glad you can work away in comfort. That’s not a 40’ box though, it looks like a 20’-24’, do you mean the length of the whole unit? Curious because I’m buying something similar for work in film and every foot counts when you’re parking 20 10-ton trucks in a city downtown to shoot a movie.

Hi, I just subbed your vlog and am interested in knowing why you would choose a truck like yours vs. a semi type truck? And, a bit about how expediting is different. I do realize its time sensitive freight, but does that tend to pay better? Thanks, really enjoyed the truck show and tell. That's pretty darn nice living quarters.
@TheCraftyTrucker
@TheCraftyTrucker 8 лет назад
Hi Bill..Thank you for subscribing!! We chose to do straight truck vs. tractor trailer because we wanted to be able to see & do more things out on the road. We can get into a lot of places that tractor trailers can not or are not allowed even if they drop their trailer. We have a video coming out very soon talking about what we do in our down time that I talk about a few of the places we've been able to go and see in the straight truck. Basically most places an RV is allowed so are we. And as you saw in the tour this sleeper is pretty much a small RV. :o) As far as the pay ..the rates per mile are typically higher because it's Expedite but you may not get as many miles as say a company driver. We typically make about the same or a bit more than a company driver would but run a lot less.

Beautiful Truck.. I drive a six wheel flat bed as I haul steel part time. I have a 47inch flat top sleeper, but I'm by myself so it does the trick. I have a Mack CH612. I also cook in my truck and I have a generator as it's my truck. Anyway, I noticed you have plastic in your cooker doing chicken. I don't like cooking in plastic because plastic has formaldehyde in it which can leach into your food and it a cancer agent big time. Maybe find some other liner for your pot as I know clean up is difficult. I enjoyed the tour, very remarkable truck....
@TheCraftyTrucker
@TheCraftyTrucker 8 лет назад
Hi Pete! Thank you .. sounds like you have a very nice truck yourself. Thank you for the tip on the crock pot liners. I never thought of it but you are absolutely right! We are fortunate to have a sink in the sleeper too so I can wash the pot .. the liners just helped to save on using water. Safe Travels :o)
@SteelyPaw
@SteelyPaw 8 лет назад
Plastc is scary stuff to cook with, however like everything else, I surmise there are people that it doesn't bother their health. And yes you are lucky, that is a wonderful sleeper. I just use a pan, and soap and pour bottled water that I fill up at a truck stop, to clean dishes out side, but it gets the job done. I do a lot of cooking in the rice cooker because it cleans easy and is versatile. I also have a small microwave, and one little propane burner and an 8" cast iron pan with a lid for frying. I make some pretty cozy meals lol. I have my front seat out, so I keep my cooler up there, and a few gallons of water. The cat often lays on the cooler or else on my bunk snuggled up. I had my truck built from a sleeper tractor I got used for a great price, I had the frame stretched thus making a flat bed out of it. I'm running a 10 speed Eaton Fuller manual with a 310 hp non turbo E7 Mack Diesel, 390 ration gears, and it's 32 feet overall length. I just haul from friends I've made with that own machine/fabrication shops, delivering the machines they build and transporting steel or going to get it. I also haul coils that are used in the stamping industries, from Indiana to Utica New York etc,. Since I do it part time, I never get tired of it as I'm partly retired at 63 years old. I'd of loved to have a Freightliner or a Peterbilt, but I could not turn down this Mack at such a good price and low millage. I'll be tuning in often, and I'm sure I'll enjoy your videos.. Thanks....

Do you need a Class A to drive such a vehicle? Or a Class C can drive this kind? I really like your set up! Its so beautiful! Also can you change the 40 ft trailer to a 26 foot? I hope you will answer me. I am ideally looking to buy a new Freightliner M2 - Extended Cab trucks 26 ft. However I cannot seem to know where to buy such.
@TheCraftyTrucker
@TheCraftyTrucker 2 года назад
Class B CDL is required. There is no trailer. The box on the back is 22ft. With such a large sleeper and the laws limit of 40ft total in most states only allows for a 22ft box

Do broker'spay the same rate per mile for straight trucks like they do for tractors

Sorry we have no clue. We have a contracted rate through our carrier. They handle the broker stuff

u buy that truck or did the company truck??? and u guys only have class b since u do jus straight truck?
@TheCraftyTrucker

We drive this truck for an owner ... Panther doesn't have company trucks you either have to be an O/O or drive for a owner. Jason has a class A & I have a class B ... You only need a class B to drive the truck we are in though.

Hi Luis. No you don't have to be team to do expediting but it definitely is more profitable if you do have someone to team with. :o)

How much did you pay for this truck on average? It is type of truck that I've been looking for. I hope that wasn't rude to ask. I am researching to have a plan for what I wanted to do. Thank you.

I am from Oklahoma. How do you get a job with your company to drive one? And do you have to run two divers or can I run Solo? Nice truck and lots of room. I am semi retired but cannot afford a motor home and this looks like a perfect job for me and a great place to call home.

Charles Ramsey we recommend reading and learning on expediters online .com this is where we learned. That is the number one best source for expediting.

I just got my Class A drivers license Do they hired new drivers I need no touch freight I have a very limited lifting ability
@skillon4wheels
@skillon4wheels 7 лет назад
What exactly is expedited freight? Like is it for more expensive stuff or what? Jw
@TheCraftyTrucker
@TheCraftyTrucker 7 лет назад
skillon4wheels Some of it is high value freight but it means that it is freight that needs to get there ASAP. And usually needs to go nonstop unlike a lot of LTL or general freight where they have several days to get it there.

What kind of jobs do you do? How many miles you guys run per week, and what is the average paycheck you getting?
@TheCraftyTrucker

We do all kinds of expedited freight. We do a weekly recap video on Mondays where we talk about each load we get for that week if you want to check those out.

i would like to work for panther as a company driver what is the required experience?
@TheCraftyTrucker
@TheCraftyTrucker 8 лет назад
Hi Mark! Unfortunately Panther does not hire company drivers ... You either have to own your own truck/cargo van or drive for an owner who leases on with Panther.

So, how did you all get started with Panther? Did you have to have a CDL A or B and how do they handle the jobs coming in? Are you considered a contractor or an employee of Panther. Just trying to gather a little info, would like to get started but not sure where to start.
@TheCraftyTrucker
@TheCraftyTrucker 7 лет назад
Richard Hysell You have to fill out their application online. Here is a link to it as well as what they require: www.pantherpremium.com/recruitingweb/fleet01.htm You need a Class B for the type of truck we drive. You would be an independent contractor .. they do not have company drivers. Check out Expeditersonline.com too. There is a ton of info there on expediting.

Are you a company driver or O/O? Also if you area company driver how would someone be able to get into one of these type of custom trucks?
@modeverything9949
@modeverything9949 6 лет назад
Bobby Davis we are owner operators for a year now. Unfortunately there are no company driver positions for these trucks. There are fleet owners who hire drivers but this makes you an independent contract driver not company driver. You will most likely need to team to start.

Glenn O'Connor Glenn O'Connor Thanks Glenn! GVWR is 33,000. It could handle 8300. Box is 22' & 97" width. That truck was $165,000.
