I love these montages, they're bloody brilliant. It's because of stuff like this that TFL leave all the other car review sites dead in the water. Onwards and upwards, guys, onwards and upwards !!!!!

I got my 2015 limited at the beginning of February and it handles the snow very well with the active drive II system in snow mode. Currently live in NY (Hudson Valley not the city) and the jeep seems to like hills/mountains so far. I didn't get all the options racking it up to $39,000...mine was in the 30-33,000 range. Still got heated everything, leather seats, backup cam, and the 8" screen. Going from the 2008 Liberty to this felt like driving an old beat up truck to driving in luxury. Still not used to sitting lower, but all in good time. Definitely worth the money imo. As everyone says, the transmission will need some work/getting used to. If you floor it, it doesn't always grab the best gear...when it does you fly...when it doesn't you are left leaning forward a bit in anticipation. I also feel like it sometimes stays around 3000 rpm a bit too long going up some smaller hills rather than upshifting. Kind of defeating the purpose of a 9-speed to get better mpgs. I'm sure its hard to make the transmission fit every environment though...especially a 9-speed. Hopefully a new software update will be in the works to improve it, but still very happy with the purchase.

I'm about to buy this model as a RHD in Australia, I love the front end look. They are now about $16000AUD/$8-$10000USD for a Low mile/Km around 75-9000kms about 40-55000miles.

Love this guy's review, tons of useful info articulated well, I like hanging out with Nathan and Roman, but frankly it takes way less time to get what you need from this guy's reviews

vadimus2007 More pop singers than you can shake a stick at have made a fortune by using an echoing mic. Mind you, they were all lousy car reviewers.

If the vehicle was reliable we would keep our 2014. The Trailhawk model checked all of our boxes. The accident avoidance technology also works great. The infotainment is also top notch. Pricing is inline with the competition. Most vehicles don't have the rear locker option. Some 2015's have had engine surging problems while coasting /decelerating. This might be related to 2015+ cylinder deactivation? Our next vehicle will have accident avoidance technology. It's costly, but, worth it.

Here's a cheap alternative. Focus on driving and pay attention to your surroundings. Simple as that
@wcjeep
@wcjeep 9 лет назад
demonik200 It might be that simple. However, if the tech saves you from one accident, is it worth it? The accident avoidance tech did save my wife from a fender bender. She wasn't on the phone. She was approaching a busy intersection that someone had to dart in front of her to save 5 seconds. The tech enabled vehicle service brakes before she saw "the Sniper". Saving $1500 on initial vehicle cost suddenly seems silly. According to your logic I should avoid any vehicle with airbags. All I have to do is "Focus on driving and pay attention"? Our Cherokee has numerous basic problems. It's going away. The tech involved is pretty cool.
@demonik200
@demonik200 9 лет назад
wcjeep There's a difference between safety technology and driving assist systems. They might brand these devices like lane keeping assist, auto braking and radar cruise control as "safety" technology but it's not. Safety technology like airbags, side curtains, pre-tention seat belts, seat belt airbags etc. are there, in the event of an accident because you can't watch out for everyone. In that situation, I feel like your wife got distracted with checking whats in her blind spot/behind her instead of putting emphasis on what is going on in front of her, but we are all human and we make mistakes. My fear is that people will start relying too much on these systems with time if they become standard norm and if they fail for some reason, then the result will be a more sever accident.

demonik200 Any system that Aids a Vehicle to avoid Accidents is a Safety Tech. Any System that Aids the Driver in Driving is a Driving assist.

I fell in love with the Cherokee Trailhawk when I first saw it on the lot at the dealer, but I don't think "Hey, they have a warranty" excuses poor reliability in a car. Apart from regularly scheduled service, you should never *expect* to bring the car in for warranty repair.

I have not heard or read that Chrysler is indeed working on a software update for this 9 speed automatic. Have you? If they are, they better hurry up to save this cute duckling.

I wish it still had a longitudinal engine and solid axles
@hoagieman26
@hoagieman26 9 лет назад
That's what the XJ is for! Daily driver capable, offroad monster in stock form, just enough room, and the legendary 4.0l sitting longitudinal in that engine bay mated to the AW-4 and the NP231 T-Case, and the Dana 30 & Chrysler 8.25" solid axles...my XJ, even stock...stomps the crap outta these KL Cherokees!

Hunter Hoag Yep, I just picked up a 1996 ZJ Grand Cherokee. D44 rear and D30 front, which I am going to swap to a D44, and put on a 7'' Iron Rock lift kit and Hankook RT03 35s! Aussie lockers front and rear. Swapping the NP249 for an NP231 just so I can run that front locker! They don't make em like they used to!

@MrChevypower
@MrChevypower 9 лет назад
vadimus2007 Oh if only you knew anything about steam power, you wouldn't have joked about that. I would LOVE steam power, it has more torque than diesel and electric! Check out Jay Leno's videos on steam powered cars. Also, are you implying hat fully independent suspension, gasoline engines, and transverse engines are all better in every way? I guess that's why Mercedes is releasing a new 4x4 with solid portal axles, diff locks, body-on-frame, and longitudinal engine with a real transfer case? But if you think the 2015 Cherokee is capable, I invite you to buy one and bring it to the Idaho state 4x4 run in June, where it will be completely destroyed.

If your knees are jammed into the back of the front seat, i would not consider that to be "a decent amount of leg space"...

Two minor points - 1) I thought all Jeeps were limited, in some cases extremely so. So why bother with the badge on the back ? 2) If these things are all over the road in Colorado, shouldn't they do something about the roadholding ?
