I too have just finished watching Spotlight...I am so enraged. I cannot imagine your pain as well as other survivors. I pray for your peace and only hope there is someone listening.
Just back from watching the Spotlight movie. I can't sleep, I feel like I am going to vomit. If it wasn't for your bravery dearest Phil....it would have gone on. Two of the abusers sat and had tea at my kitchen table with my mother. She baked them cookies. I was told to give them a kiss before I ran upstairs to my Barbies. Looking back it makes me gag. I was forced to go to catholic school in ninth grade. Father O'Sullivan was the head of our school. He molested one of my friends. He told me years later, but looking back I saw him retreating....he wasn't himself after ninth grade. I rebelled and ran away. I went to a party at the "Street Priest's" apartment after he took us to 1270 and bought us alcohol. I saw him molest one of my gay friend's from BC High. He was 14. My son's age now. Why didn't I tell anyone? Years later my ex-husband admitted he was molested by a priest in Louisiana. I'm glad I saw the film but I feel sick to my stomach. Phil I wish I could give you a hug. Thank you for your courage.
+bookwormsurfer Thank you so much. Do I know you? You certainly seem to have been surrounded by predatory priests when you were young. What an era . . . those priests had it so easy.
